I've had no issues with installing S9, S10 or S11 on both my desktop, my laptop or my daughter's computer at the same time.

Of course, you aren't supposed to, but I've even re-registered the software via a different IP address without issues. My argument would be that I only use one copy at a time. And given the number of times you need to uninstall and reinstall Studio if you follow the advice of support, then as far as they are concerned, I have uninstalled it from my other machines. Many Times. Many Many Times....

I'd double check you are entering the serial correctly as a first step.

It's more likely that your school has some kind of protection in place that won't allow you to use a serial that isn't register to your IT department.

So what measures are in place to stop me doing this? If there are any, then are you are sure that they are working ?

How does Pinnacle know when I've uninstalled S11 from my laptop when I get home from a business trip, so that I can re-install it on my desktop?

How does Pinnacle cope with people who have dual-boot computers?

How does Pinnacle cope with people who use Disc Imaging software?

Is there an option to buy a second license at a discount?

However my preference would be for the license to be like some of the other big players, a copy on a desktop and one  on a laptop with the stipulation that only one can be used at a time.

A few months ago I was lamenting that I could not put a copy of Photoshop on my laptop but I took a look at the EULA and it appeared that I could. I went to the trouble to contact Adobe (fairly strict in how their licensing process works hence the reason for contacting them) and sure enough, laptop and desktop were fine.

I'm afraid you would have to contact sales about discounts for addition licenses.

As for the EULA, they are found on the Studio manual found on your Installation Disc.
