    Digital Juice Swipes

I may be the only editor on the planet who hasn't used Swipes or editors toolkit. How easy are Swipes to use with Liquid?  Are there any tips and tricks I should know in advance of purchasing?  Many thanks!

I use Swipes on occasion and they import easy, I think with ETK's you get your "best bang for your DJ buck". As far as tips do a search here or old Avid Liquid forum. Or, DIgital Juice has a very good forum, even has a Liquid section.

    Re: Digital Juice Swipes

I use them all the time. Very easy. Check out the Digital Juice Forums. There is a forum dedicated to Liquid Users.

There are some super specials on the Editor's Toolkits, $70. Original prices were in the $250 range.\

    Good Luck.

    Editor's Toolkit 2: Multipurpose Tools II (DVD) $49.00 1 $49.00 Motion Design Elements 007: Line Items (DVD) $9.95 1 $9.95

I ordered those today but the shipping costs are too high 41$.

I mean I pay 59 for all and additional 41 for the shipping.

Anyway it seems like a very good deal.

Did you tried to resize them within Liquid?

    Re: Digital Juice Swipes

I did resize within liquid almost for 2years. DJ render faster than liquid quick to avi. If possible it is better to use DJ.

    Re: Digital Juice Swipes

The thing is to resize it within AL and then to export as Uncompressed and import them again.

I also did that for some time and I used some DJ (by cropping them) as lower thirds also.

    Re: Digital Juice Swipes

There is a Liquid form on the DJ website.  Please post your question there too.

THe Juicer uses Quicttime as its render engine.  Make sure you have upgraded to the lastest version of QUicktime and post the results back here.

    Re: Digital Juice Swipes

The swipes are cool and I use them now and then but I always have trouble getting the audio to export from the juicer in the correct format that liquid can understand.  Once I guessed right but didn't write the export options down and have since forgotten how to do it.  Anybody know?

    Re: Digital Juice Swipes

Set the audio to 44k and 16 bit.

    Re: Digital Juice Swipes

Ok thanks for that Jim!  I just went into liquid and tried it and it works fine for the swipes but for some reason it doesn't work for the traditional wipes that now have optional sounds you can choose that basicaly turn them into swipes.  Liquid cannot recognize the aiff audio format so I choose wav.  For some reason even though I choose wav, the juicer exports it as aiff anyway.  the work around is to either try to find it in the sound effects library or to just pick a new one from the sound effects library.

Have you run into this problem or is it just me?

    Re: Digital Juice Swipes

All the Digital Juice product settings need to changed in the Juicer to 44k, 16bit, and sav.  You can make these your defaults in the juicer.  I never have an audio problem now.
