I gave a "lesson" to the kids in my sons school on film making

I showed them my gear- camera, tripod, mic, steadicam and so on.

I then showed them a film I made with my kids.

Finally we made a little film - 10 minutes of filming, making up the script on the fly !

8 hours of editing and adding music later - here is the result

Overall, it was a fun piece.....a good pacing for the most part. There was one quick cut at 12 seconds that seemed like it didn't have it's place to be there....maybe the cut was too short, but it didn't fit with the rest of the piece. Also, I read some of your notes that said that you showed them your steadicam....some of the shots were pretty shaky which leads me to believe that you either you wanted this type of effect, or you just didn't use the steadicam. Did you blow up some of the shots (a few looked fuzzy) or maybe it is just the compression. Anyway, thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it !

I have to agree with Mark about the cut. It's too short and distracting.

BTW, baseball caps instead of kippa? If I had worn one to school at that age, I'd have ended up in the principals office and my parents called.

- yes there were a couple of bad frames there - the tail end of a pan as a I moved from face to face.

- As to the shakes, it was expression of the overall turbulence and excitement.

Just kidding.. actually I was too busy "directing" the kids and filming and I'd forgotten that I had  the Steadicam, 

- the fuzzy stuff was a 2D magnification over done - I had to get close to avoid a jump cut - as it is it doesn't look good.

I really didn't have a lot to play with.

2) The kids of today...actually things are pretty east going here. The teacher is called Mira and not Mrs whatever. The school is actually a local Kibbutz school so that makes the atmosphere even more relaxed.

You should have seen the teacher after I was done. She controls them like a sergeant major. She has a little triangle and when she rings it they sit up straight and don't say a word.

They do NOT shout the answers - 1 finger  means they want to ask/answer a question, 2 means they want to get a drink, Three means they need to go to the Loo .

No kidding !
