    Hi all

Its been a while...here are a few videos I have "churned out" of late.  I might have moaned about it in the past but I think I have hit the right note when it comes to integrating After Effects and Liquid.

    Nick,

I really liked your showpiece! Out of curiosity, how much choreography do you do with your clients to get your shots?

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

Thanks Dave. Not very much at all, there are some posed shots in the reel, but I always strive to capture the natural spur of the moment scenes, which have more emotional impact.

How are you guys exporting  footage with Liquid to be placed on Youtube and Vidimeo.   The footage is crystal clear with no artifacts.  I suspect a lot has to do with the cameras.

I thought I'd share my latest project.  Done within AL7, Boris Red, and some DJ stuff and royalty-free pictures.

I made this for our Bible Study group. Hope you like it.

    Irishdigitaldiver,

I use Lossless AVI (alpha and audio as frequent options selected).  What are you finding as the "right note" that works for you?

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

Very nice. Not at all my style of what I'd want in my wedding video, but more than enough to make me want to see what else you can do. Which is the whole point of a demo reel. When I saw the Vegas-style sign at the beginning, my first thought was "Oh boy...", but it fit what followed.

Out of curiosity, what did you do to get the outline effect arround the people? Did you use an outline tool, or a motion tracking keyer?

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

    Dave,

Very well put. It is the point of the reel and I like the way you put it. Not your style but yet its a style, My style. IMHO thats what a demo reel is. Thanks

Also your question about the outline around the outline. I use a reverse spotlight in Boris Red, can be done in AE also. Basically layering the video with a alpha, pulling a spotlight with BBC plugins with Boris and pull from left to right or vise vera acrossed the bottom layer and you get an outline around the people. Im sure this could be done with basic lighting in Red or After Effects to eliminate the plug ins.

    Roger - Thanks also

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

You're welcome. I'm going to have to see if I can replicate this effect in Liquid (I like playing with this kind of stuff). Did you make the alpha channel manually?
  •  02-22-2010, 19:16 382138 in reply to 382137

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

Yeah I made the alpha channel manually. I think this could be done in Liquid with some roto work and maybe some keying? Breaking the layers apart and I guess use the light filter? It is fun to play around with it, I am just getting used to the tools in 3rd party apps that make things eazy, like Boris Red with is a plugin and save lots of time. But I like to figure 'how it can be done in liquid'. Liquid is very powerful and when used creavtivly with a open mind, lot can be done. I guess this goes with all software for the most part.
