I had the privilage to work with the Craig Woolard Band New Years Eve and they let me Catch the sound stright off of their Mixer. I have been using the method for a while and the guy mixing the sound really knew his stuff and gave me some great pointers about audio. This was even more of a challange because these guys have a horn section and thats always tough to mix (for me anyway) These guys are great and very Popular in the Beach Music Community, Mostly the Carolinas and Virginia, some of you may have even heard these guys on the Radio. Last year Craig Woolard was the " Male Vocalist of The Year" in the Beach Music Community. He is former Member of the Embers and if your ever south of the Mason Dixon line look them up. Great group of guys to work with.Check out some clips from New Years Eve Preformance at our Place.

     Craig Woolard NYE 2008

     Enjoy

Here's a quickie. My wife's church puts on a play to raise money for a mission they support (generally food for those in need). This year they're putting on Suessical the Musical.

The play is put on in the church, in the sanctuary. But they don't use the small stage where the pulpit goes. Instead a full stage is put up (complete with elevator for disappearing people from The Wizard of Oz). Here's a timelapse of day 1 of the stage build (the walls, background, and other props are still being put together).

The music isn't the final piece, just something to fit for the moment.

Alan, I tested it here in both FireFox and IE7. What browser are you using?

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

It's a fun piece. I'm going to do the stage take down as well (it'll run in about 30 seconds). The church's 300th (or is it the 350'th?) anniversary is coming up in a couple of years and I'm collecting a lot of video for potential use.

    Fun Dave.  Thanks for sharing.

One question--was the speed up done in the camera or with Liquid (or another application for that matter)?  If Liquid, what were the parameters in Time Warp?

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

I captured directly to a laptop. I used a freeware intervalometer called CaptureFlux (free for non-commercial use). I was writing up an intervalometer of my own when I found this one. There's no way to do this easily with the timewarp as it's 6 hours compressed to 1 minute (one frame every 10 seconds).

Long-sleeved red shirt and no hair. I'm the one re-building the stairs on the left side about 3/4 of the way through the video (the stairs were scary last year; they were really scary this year).

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

It been sitting on my harddrive for the best part of 6months so I decided I would do a quickie with After Effects.  Done for fun with a few lighting and shadowing flaws.  Followed the videocopilot.net for this one.

Re: Son of Show your Liquid Stuff...

Your views and thoughts on our new promo would be appreciated.  It is used as a looped promo on one of two identical flat screens on our stand at wedding fairs.  The objective is to convey a simple, key message to every visitor, regardless of whether we have time to speak to them or not.

The other programme (shown on an identical screen mounted above the promo on a single chrome column  and also on a picture frame and a Creative Zen Vision W, elswhere on the stand) is a selection of half a dozen of our "Dream" weddings - 5 minute summaries.

Fairs are often fairly noisy so the programme can't always be heard hence the titling.  The only other thing I'd add is that the streamed version seems less smooth and flowing than the actual programme on screen.  That gives this file a somewhat rushed feel that isn't really there.
