Studio 14, navigation dans les rushs (problème)

Bon, pas très facile de vous expliquer le problème que je rencontre sur mon nouveau Studio 14.

En général, lorsque je navigue dans mes rushs (menu éditer), pour trouver la séquence exacte qui m'intéresse, j'utilise la roulette de ma souris pour avancer et reculer dans une séquence, et ainsi choisir minutieusement ou je veux faire ma découpe... Hors, dans Studio 14, rien en se passe, je suis obligé de le faire via les boutons du player.

Pourtant lorsque je place une séquence sur la ligne du temps, là je peux jouer avec ma roulette de souris comme outil de positionnement précis.

Un oubli dans la version 14? ou une option à ré-activée ?

12 Ultimate - Pics "flying" across the page

I saw a video (that was REALLY WELL DONE) on YouTube where they had a stationary background photo (I think it was of a forest) and still pictures

moved across the screen from right to left. They would move at different speeds, sometimes overlap each other and varied in size. Randomly, one would stop

and enlarge to the "full" size of the screen. This really has a cool effect. My question is: Is this a plug-in effect - pre-programmed program, where you just

insert your photos and the program generates the show or was it done manually ??? If it is a "program" does it come with 12 Ultimate or purchase sperate - Where

can I find it/Purchase it. Can this be done with video snippets as well as stills ?? The show said it was done on Studio 12 Ultimate but the person who made

it has not answered my "comment" on YouTube so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone knows how to do this.

Après avoir désinstallé et réinstallé S12 (je ne me souviens plus si mon UAC était désactivée) je vois les thèmes, mais quand je clique sur l'un deux, je vois mon curseur avancer sur la droite, mais le fond reste désespérement noir ....

autre précision, comme je l'ai déjà signalé, j'ai supprimé Norton, sans effets ...

De plus avant ma désinstall, quand je cliquais sur propriétés, il me donnait l'option, lancer en tant qu'administrateur, je n'ai plus maintenant cette option ...

ich habe auch kein Videosignal. Die Sony-Camera wird einwandfrei erkannt, nur eben kein Videosignal. Die Camera läßt sich auch steuern. Treiber sind (Bios, Grafikkarte) aktuell.

Es klappt weder über FireWire noch über AV/DV2.

Ich habe nochmal eine Probe-Aufnahme mit S12 gemacht - einwandfrei, ber Firewire wie auch über AV/DV2.

Hoi, Ik heb op mijn computer opnieuw Windows Vista geinstalleerd. Ook opnieuw Pinnacle 12 plus. Nu krijg ik allemaal icoontjes met het logo van Pinnacle ipv de foto of het begin van een filmpje. als ik wil afsluiten krijg ik een melding dat afsluiten niet meer werkt. Wie kan mij helpen om dit probleem op te lossen. Misschien ligt het aan een instelling ik weet het niet. Ik ben maar een leek met computers dus als het kan in simpele taal.

J'aimerais votre avis sur le matériel d'aquisition analogique. Pour ma part, j'ai la movibox dont je ne suis pas entièrement satisfaite, aussi j'aimerais acheter autre chose. Que pensez-vous de la carte d'aquisition Movie Board Ultimate (j'ai Studio ultimate 14). On m'a parlé aussi de Canopus 55 qui donnait de bons résultats ? Merci pour vos réponses, je sais que ce sujet revient souvent, mais je ne sais plus trop quoi prendre.

Improving DVD Quality

I'm going to take a brief pause before starting my next video project to try to learn more about some of the variables affecting quality of DVD playback. I feel like the quality of my Studio projects is getting worse over time, primarily in terms of fuzziness of images and blurring and distortions during transitions. I'm sure this is partly attributable to the fact that I now have a large, HD TV, but I still feel the quality should be better. For transitions, I frequently see the entire image bump up a small amount at some point during the transition, then the image bumps back again a few seconds later. The image also blurs as the transition starts, and doesn't come back into focus until the transition has finished, making hard to fully appreciate the next image until the fade is over.

Can anyone point me to threads or other sites that can help me understand some of the variables I should watch for, and possible a test process I could go through to optimize my configuration. I've experimented with various settings, including widescreen vs. standard, progressive, etc., but could use a primer on some of these pros and cons of these different settings.

Finally, I've always assumed that the capability of my computer would not affect the quality of the finished DVD, but would like feedback on this as well. My computer is a few years old, and wasn't the most powerful even when new. It struggles some times during editing, but would things like processor speed, video card, etc., affect the quality of a DVD produced on it?

Export error: real time in S12.1 Trial Version

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying Studio 12 plus and am using the Trial version currently to check it does what I need it to. Unfortunately I can't get round the following intermittent problem during Make Movie.

I click Create Disc (DVD, Best Quality) and get the usual prompts about overwritng the disc contents etc. It then asks me to select an image folder for my projet (PROJECT1) and the Rendering Menus then starts. I now receive the following error message:

Export Error: real time c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\studio12\data\render/project1 a54038a\dvd\studiosequence\temp00.m2v

The process then stops. This problem happens 4 times out of 5 and I can't work out what is causing it. On the odd time when the make movie does complete, I can't see that I am doing anything different,

Has anyone else seen this is the Trial version of S12? if so, any ideas what I can do to prevent it? I want to buy S12 but only have 13 days of the trial left to fix this bug first.

Workflow for how to get a hd blu-ray project out from Liquid using Dvdit Pro HD

I am not going to teach you how to edit in dvdit pro hd, there are others doing this, link is here.

1. The simple and fast way, you could compare it with creating dvd discs directly out from Liquid.

Work in standard hd, export the timeline as a fuse, import the m2v and the wav file into dvdit pro hd, the 25 mbps videofile will be reencoded to a new 25 mbps videofile of the same type.

2. The uncompressed way, when you have made colourcorrections and wants them to render as hd uncompressed.

After rendering as uncompressed hd, export your project as a 25 mbps mpg file and use the workflow in 1

export as a 85 mbps hd mjpeg avi file using the mjpeg decoder in liquid, you will need to create your own preset in the export - avi set as 1920 x 1080 interlaced and highest quality

or export as a 185 ( 220 for ntsc, more frames per sec ) mbps movfile using the DnxHd codec

both those files are able to handle by dvdit pro hd and will of course be reencoded to m2ts files, Roxios recommendations is to use source media with as high quality as possible to avoid artifacts.

Those 2 highspeed files are also able to import into, for example, adobe mediaencoder for creating 2 pass encoded m2v bluray files, those files are NOT reencoded by dvdit pro hd and will run straight through the program renamed to m2ts, this is my own workflow when I want to create as good quality as possible, it is also the one that takes a long time to create, especially the mov file and I only use it in "special" projects, my imagination tells me that there are some more deep in the movie when I am looking at my plasma, this also goes for dvd projects created in the same way.

What I really should want is to have Liquid to create a highspeed m2v file that is running straight through dvdit pro hd without the need to reencode it but noone has, so far, found the correct export settings for this.

ScoreFitter rendering, What does it do ?

Howdy do,

Title may not be exactly right, but this is what I wanted to know.

I do understand how the rendering process "syncs" or is triggered with the photos/videos you

are using.

Does ScoreFitter generate a new song every time it is used ?

Or is there a "stock" source of the music phrases, then used over and over.

Reason for question:

PG Music Band In A Box has a song generator built into it. It does

create new music each time it is used.

Also an older Cubase I had years ago would create new music each time it was used.

home video burnt in avchd format to dvd does not play in ps3 .

I have windows 7 new hp desktop with i7 processor.. home video dvd burnt via studio12 in hd AVCHD format does not play on ps3. tried changing brands of dvd no luck. dvd plays on desktop but does not play in ps3.

any suggestion would be helpful.

Media Composer 4 upgrade for Liquid users

OK guys, here is my idea.. We had some pretty good success the last time we offered this to the Liquid faithful. I want to go back to the well one last time and see if Avid would be willing to do it again. This is strictly in the exploration phase. I have not even asked Avid if they would in fact be willing to do it again. I do know the first thing they are going to ask me is how many I think would be sold.

So I'm throwing it out to you guys here. If I could get Avid to offer the $1499 loyalty upgrade from Liquid to Media Composer 4 (with all 3rd party software), would you buy it?

etwas ausserhalb von Pinnacle:
mit meinem neuen Inkjet Drucker Canon MP 640 kann ich fotoprintable DVDs und CDs sehr schön mit Text und Bildern bedrucken. Jedoch....leider sind die Aufdrucke ziemlich feuchtigkeitsempfindlich und können beim Berühren mit feuchten/nassen Fingern sehr leicht verschmieren.
Im Internet sieht man diverse Angebote für sogenannte Fixiersprays für Tintenstrahldrucker, die den Aufdruck gegen Nässe und Feuchtigkeit schützen sollen, die DVDs können nicht mehr verschmieren und zudem sollen die Farben besser wirken.

Hat jemand von Euch Erfahrungen mit solchen Sprays ?
Könnten Sie - obwohl von allen Anbietern verneint - eventuell die DVD angreifen ?

AVCHD in Liquid ??

BACKGROUND

I personally have switched 100% to AVCHD and tapeless opting to keep only one HDV camera around for awhile to convert all my HDV to digital files then it will go also. We are now telling all our clients we only deliver video in DVD or BluRay even our "shoot n ship" clients. Oh and as the latter infers, we only shoot in HD widescreen; if they want elstwise (ooouuuu, i like that word) they can get someone else. There are many reasons why we went with this format and for now we have an edit solution in another product but we'd like to get the material in Liquid WITHOUT using the DVCProHD solution which is what we had with our HVX200A's and didn't like it.

QUESTION

So, I've read several threads about AVCHD discussions and either I'm not putting the search in right or I'm not getting it, but I want to know if anyone else has found a nice workable solution for a AVCHD in Liquid. My solution desire would have to include the ability to link clips together so that several files would become one where needed and which will also allow an edit in Liquid without a lot of work, time, and/or loss of data, color, or image loss?

BTW, we have the free conversion software from Panasonic that converts the data disc material to DVCProHD but we don't like that format as it is not only overly space consuming but Liquid doesn't like the codec and will only work efficiently using the MPEG2 codec and if going to that then why not just use HDV right?

If anyone wants our acquisition work flow that provides a 100% back up process, just give us a shout and we'll advise thusly. And if Smetved has a plan on how to get AVCHD into Liquid I'd love to see it especially if it was somehow able to be inclusive in Liquid instead of the converter way and/or with more control features.

"Failed to get Video from Device" on Windows 7 / S14 / Audigy 2 firewire

This is a bit strange. I can control my Panasonic GS180 fine (rewind/play controls work, Studio sees that the camera is there) but S14 can't capture the video or audio. It says "failed to get video from device" in the middle preview screen and the "Start Capture" button is disabled.

I'm using a firewire port in a Audigy2 Platinum EX breakout box. Has always worked fine (on Win XP) - drivers seem ok for everything else. Drivers are version 6.0.1.1371 From Creative June 2009.

Any ideas welcome...

I've just took my B-Control out of the box. I know little to nothing about MIDI control. What do I have to do to get it working and what should I expect it to do? I've already gone into control panel in Liquid and chose USB MIDI device for input and output. There's only one parameter choice and I've elected that. Do I have to do something to assign the audio faders to channels?

Pan and zoom photo slides black out or flicker

My project intermixes sequences of slide show and video. Video is 16x9. Some photos are not so I zoom in to crop off black on the sides. Some I apply a pan. These are great. But at some point after many edits of the video project, occasionally a few slides may black out entirely. Or they may flicker to black at various rates. I can sometimes fix these by editing the pan and zoom of a photo and doing a reset. But it is like they have some memory of corruption of some sort and sometimes I can't fix them. Sometimes I can restore the zoom. Sometimes not. They all start out fine, but develop this tendency to black out in time. They seem to get sticky with this affliction and can get worse. Worse because I can not edit out the black-outs. I can exit and re-enter Pinnacle 14, which does not affect anything. But it is always the same photos giving me fits. We are talking about maybe 3-5 photos having problems out of several hundred. I recall seeing this issue in Pinnacle 12 as well. Similar behavior.

Some projects I work on over a period of several months. I generally first discover these black outs or flickers after doing a draft DVD burn. I see them on the DVD. So I edit the project, and I can see the black out effect in the editor in preview then.

HFX zooming text effect

I want to have some text come onto the screen overlapping the video so that I can see the text over the video. I want the text to hold for a few seconds so it can be read then fade and shrink into the distance. Is there anyone who knows if there is an effect anywhere to use in S12U or as a plugin?

I have tried Boris but I just cant see a way of using this option. I was trying HFX but again I can't figure it out.

opening projects from studio12 in studio 14

I am having issues opening projects created in studio 12 ultimate, with my new version of studio 14 ultimate. Every time I go to open an old project notyhing appears in the story board. like it doesnt exist. Even though the program thinks it has the project open...none of the stills or video images appear in the story boards and nothing will play when I hit the play button. I tried uninstalling studio 14 and reverting to studio 11 and 12, but now says that each project I try to open is a later version (14) and will not open. Do I have some settings off or something? Why Am I not seeing my older projects in the new studio 14. Please help.

Ability to Change Default Location / Create disc

As discussed in THIS thread, Studio 11 always wants to save your "Make Disc" in "My Documents, however you can select a different location if you wish. The next time you "Make Disc", again the default will be in "My Documents"

Studio 10 would default to this location at first, but afterwards the default location would be remembered as the place you previously stored to.

Since the "Create File" default location is customizable, but the "Create Disc" is not, I will submit this as a feature request. It's rather annoying for both of them to not act the same.

Problems with pictures

I am inserting pictures. jpg format on a project with PAL (720 * 576). Everything perfect but when I watch it in the photo done as a jump or change in format, slight but noticeable.

Which may be due.
