    PS 25 U Pan & Zoom

I've been running Pinnacle Studio since version 8 and in August 2021 I upgraded from 24 to 25.

In PS 25 U the Pan & Zoom function and display isn't looking as it has been earlier and the clip is displayed smaller than the the white, green and red frames.

I have made two short clips of how it looks and functions in PS 24 U and PS 25 U so you'll see the difference. They are unlisted on my YouTube channel.

I have installed PS 25 U on three different computers where one has never had any version of PS installed earlier and I get the same problem on all three.

I've been in contact with Corel support for over three weeks and they haven't been able to solve this despite several different attempts.

Has anyone else got the same problem in PS 25 U?

    Re: PS 25 U Pan & Zoom

I continue to find bugs in PS25 including this one that is pretty annoying. Also note once you zoom in what is rendered is different than is show on the timeline preview. You have to allow more space, etc.

Can we just get PS24 installed and call it good?

    Re: PS 25 U Pan & Zoom

Today I got a new mail from Corel support where they for the third time asked me for the same thing (a copy of my MSINFO32 report and a WinAudit report).

I answered that this doesn’t lead anywhere. And told them to stop now and come back when they have a new program update that cures this problem (and possible other bugs) in PS 25 U.

I also referred to the answers I got from you guys showing that it isn’t just me and my three computers that have this problem in PS 25 U. There are more people out there experiencing the same problem as I have.

    Re: PS 25 U Pan & Zoom

    Hi kiteflyer,

After 42 mails back and forth Corel support are now closing my case without a solution. I wrote this to them.

    Good morning Vasugi!

I must tell you that I’m very disappointed (in Corel) to see that you are closing my support ticket without offering any solution to this problem. And the solution isn’t trying same things 3-4 times. A new program version is needed.

As written before. I have the same problem on 3 computers and 2 other PS 25 U users came back with “yes we also have this problem” when I wrote about this on the Pinnacle forum.

    http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/ShowThread.aspx?PostID=817118#817132

To me it looks like PS 25 U isn’t fully compatible with Windows 10. You should develop a new program version that doesn’t have the problem or I want my money back for PS 25 U (SEK 955,00 ($ 101,43))) .

After using Pinnacle Studio for almost 20 years (and buying upgrades every year for the last 10 years) I’m now considering going elsewhere to find an editing program.

    Hi.

I seems to me that you are not alone.!!!

The support team has the same policy: asking again and again for the same info and not replying to your specific problem

    Re: PS 25 U Pan & Zoom

    Thanks David!

Almost at the same time as I got notification of your reply to this post I got a new mail from Corel Support where the issue now is handled by another person who wrote this.

"I have reported the issue to the engineering team for investigation. Unfortunately, I do not have an estimate on how long it will take for them to review, investigate and come back with comments but rest assure that as soon as I hear back, I will contact you immediately."

So finally after almost 2 months since purchase and installation they have reported the issue to the engineering team. Let's hope we can now expect and updated program patch solving this(and other) problem(s).
