Many years a go I bought the pinnacle 500-USB to digitalize my HI8. Due to lake of time a waited a long time and now I want to start again. I bought studio 24, but i am not sure of the pinnacle 500-USB is the best hardware. Can i digitalize it to a better quality if i buy the Dazzle DVD recorder HD or makes the use of the pinnacle 500-USB no difference.

I bet it won't make any big quality difference + take note that there are some troubles with Dazzel DVD HD Recorder and modern versions of Studio and Win 10 : http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/thread/808959.aspx

I'd expect the 500 to be at least as good. It also has a DV Input. If you tried to buy one on eBay you would pay a lot for it.

The current Dazzle is NOT recomended. They say they are fixing the software, but they have been saying that for at least a month. They are also refusing to give refunds.
