Studio 9.4 not registering.

    Studio 9.4 not registering.

    Hello,

    I had to do a re-install an old Windows XP machine, Pinnacle Studio 9 and applied the patch. I put my product key and passport into the program. I added some of the content keys I have.

    But I cannot register the program. Can I register this product? It won't be used much, but I think it is important to be fully functional. Also in future if I needed something that is an extra, I would want to be able to purchase it since those do not work either.

    Do I need to contact Corel?

    I doubt you will be able to purchase any extra content, whether you registered your copy of PS9 or not.

    Use the email you used when you first registered it and that should do the trick. I have done it several times.

    I loggged onto Corel's web-page and found my registration information. Pinnacle Studio was at the bottom from a few years ago. Does this count for registration?

     

    I have emailed Corel before and they said if I contact them and pay for certain things, they will give product codes and what you need to input so things are unlocked. But I am unsure on their policy right now.

    You can still register your product by entering your old email address you used. You need it so you can activate whatever effects you previously had. I had done this several times and it works when I enter my registered email and then regenerate my activation  keys. If you have any problems just send a PM to any moderators with your registered email and passport number and we will send you a new activation keys for some effects you may need or had purchased back then.

    Studio 9.4 may not properly work on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10.

    I put in my activation keys for what was unlocked and thingsseem to be working so far.

    I am having a similar problem as well and since Corel acquired Pinnacle Studio I haven't received near the tech support quality as when Avid still retained the rights.  I didn't use my Pinnacle Studio 9.43 with the Bonus content Revision 4 disc I purchased as a supplement ($28.00) and the Instant Activation feature to unlock those components for another $19.99 which was said to be good for as long as you used the software and a host of other plugins I purchased.  I recently was put on a disability pension from my work because of health problems so my wife suggested now that I finally have some time on my hands to put a bunch of our saved home video tapes on DVD so we will always have them as the source tapes are degrading in quality.  I know it's legacy software as they call it however I spent quite a bit of money on it plus the add ons.  I had an older PC in the basement I dusted off and it still works well with Windows XP SP3 which I wanted to use as the dedicated computer just for the video editing and burning purposes.  The software installed fine but trying to activate the standard to plus features it will not let me do.  The regeneration feature only goes to a dead blank popup and one link redirects to Corel that states they no longer support any version from 15 on down.  I know they CAN do it but don't WANT to do it because they either want you to buy a newer program or an upgrade.  My XP machine will only support up to version 10 or at least that is what the specs say from what I can gather.  Next year when Microsoft stops supporting Windows 7 and 8 and moves the corporate world over to Windows 10 I will be shopping for a new Windows 10 computer but until then I was wanting to catch up on this project with the XP computer but was going to probably buy a new Pinnacle Studio program for Windows 10.  So I contacted Corel by telephone and have spoke with 3 different Customer Support representatives and they all said that I would be receiving a call from tech support.  That was a week ago and each time I receive the exact same prepublished EMAIL instead of a tech support phone call stating I have a legacy software program and its's not supported anymore and they suggest I buy new software from them, every time it's worded verbatim like an auto response.  All I'm asking for is what I paid for......no freebies or anything.  This last EMAIL did however contain a link to a survey on the quality of service I have received from Corel so far.  I was very blunt and honest but not rude.  I don't even know if that will be read or brought to anyone's attention like the auto response I got before.  I know they can afford to put the regeneration feature back in so that legacy users can still use the software they invested hundreds of dollars in.  I may go with another vendors software when I buy a new machine next year.  I really don't want to because I enjoyed using the Pinnacle Studio the few times I did use it however the experience with Corel is leaving me with a pretty sour taste towards them thus far.  I also use Roxio which they acquired from Rovi from what I understand  I'm being patient as I can and they may call me but so far it seems they are passing the buck.  I don't know if there are universal codes out there because I was always told that the codes were generated by the serial number and passport I.D. and when they put that regeneration feature in the software it was great.  You had the ability to do most of that yourself instead of tying up the tech support department on the phone.

    Pinnacle Studio 15 and earlier versions of Pinnacle Studio will work well on Windows XP including Avid Studio. You can still install Pinnacle Studio 9 in Windows 10 but some features will not work well. I still use Windows XP to edit some videos but now starting to use PS22. It is a little bit complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it you will edit like a pro.

    R Vera,     I still received no call from tech support yesterday so I think I am going to have to have one of the moderators intervene on this.  Unless Saby is already doing this I don't know.   You stated previously Windows XP will work up to Version Studio 15?  The reason I'm asking is because the resident nerd as they called him at work at the time gave me a couple different versions of Pinnacle Studio when he found out that I had purchased version 9.43 AV DV Deluxe.  I know one was version 10 and the other I'm not sure of but he did not give me any documentation or serial numbers on those. The funny thing is he wanted to keep his version 8, I don't know why, I guess he liked the way version 8 worked.   I've only used my version and the upgrades and supplements I have purchased.  I did ask Saby his opinion on whether or not I should do an uninstall/reinstall of my current installation first because I had forgot that Pinnacle recommends that you install the program on a seperate hard drive than the operating system drive which I did not do and in doing so a new install would change the passport number thereby regenerating a different set of activation keys than if I left it the current way it's configured to the C: drive.  Do you think I should uninstall and reinstall to the secondary drive before submitting passport I.D. and serial number and all that information to a moderator to go through the process?  I was reading the manual and that's where i got some of this information..  ThanksSmile

    Have patience. Saby already submitted your request and it takes time to receive your new keys. Saby should send you the keys by PM once he gets them.

    As per your other requests. The programs that the other person gave you without the activation keys are worthless. He already registered his keys and you won't be able to activate it under your email. You can find PS 15 or earlier versions on ebay quite cheap. 

    I already checked on ebay and I only found PS12, which is also real good. I use it a lot and works as a champ. You can check yourself daily since it keeps updating daily.

    R_Vera,  Thanks for the reply and info. I followed that link and do see some ads for Pinnacle Studio on there.  I guess you would have to get a new old stock version that has never been opened to guarantee that it would work.  My Studio 9.43 AV/DV Deluxe (Plus) worked fine as long as everything was unlocked.  Do you think those later versions were that much better than Studio 9?

    If you are happy with Studio 9, you can continue using it. If you want to buy a later version that is up to you to decide. You can still have the previous version of PS installed just in case you may need it. If you decide to buy from ebay make sure you contact the seller and advise them if the item is already unregistered.

    Yes it works. I had tried it several times.

    Make sure you store it in an external HDD or a USB memory stick.
