    Files imported show "locked symbol"

Files I have created on my system show locked status when imported.

What does the lock mean and why import the file into a bin?

Does it imply that there is a process or procedure to execute?

If you mean images that you created outside of PS are not locked when imported into PS, that show a “lock” symbol, can you describe such a symbol that is attached to each file when in PS?  I know of no such symbol.  There are other symbols, such as ! when a thumbnail is not linked to an actual image on your drive plus other symbols.

Project Bins provide a degree of organization and isolation to see only/all media you bring into each specific project.  So, you can have multiple projects in your PS library and work with each independently.  You need not use project bins but in time will see their value.  Apparently, they are used by the pro's (aren’t we all) in other very professional commercial video editing s/w.
