Using a Dazzle DVC101 to copy VHS home movies to a PC?

I was given a Dazzle DVC101 a few years ago but haven't used it much so far but I seem to remember that it was for copying VHS movies straight to DVD. I am now using a PC running Windows 8.1 so are drivers available for this device that would make it work with this version of Windows and if so where can I find them? Secondly, assuming that it will work with Windows 8.1, can it be used to copy VHS home movies from a VHS player to a digital file on my PC? I would prefer to have the option of editing the films using my video editing software before burning them to DVD. I would greatly appreciate any help and advice that any of you could give me.

Drivers are available here. The last developped are for Seven 32 or 64 bits. I don't know if they are ok with Win 8.

If you manage to have it work in Win 8, you need a software to capture the VHS. Basically this device is a A/D converter. It passes uncompressed video to a software. Then you can edit and export as a file if you want.
