Re: Pinnacle Studio 16 Review
Thanks Tony. I knew deep in my soul that it wasn't compatable,(also, I had seen the list before) but I had hopes that one of you magicians had found a way. I guess I'll just be thankful for what IS working. (And continue looking for a good 'rain' effect.)

Re: Pinnacle Studio 16 Review
Eightysix86: vigor2001:Hey Eightysix86. Great that you were able to get that figured out. Hope to see some of your work soon.
Thanks buddy. Here is the fruit of my hard work.
The student interns in my office wanted to put together a video to show at a reunion, so they suggested "Gangnam Style".
There is a scene when I rotate in a circle with all the students around me. I wanted a cool effect where I could easily drop frames from a segment of video to give it a real choppy flavor. I could not find this at all within AS. So I turned preview to "Best" and captured my second preview monitor with Camtasia Studio at 5 frames per second. Then threw that video back into AS, sped it up and threw a vignette on it. I like the results. Thought I saw an effect that could do this in AS. (Other than manually taking frames out one at a time).
Awesome job! It looks like you and the students had a blast making it. Well done, my friend, well done.

At times I am a "visual" person. Seeing images help me to understand better. Other times, I am a "text" person where having the text helps me better. To have both can only help not only myself but others! Great job again!

Good for you! I thought that after reading your post, I would re-try Stagetools MovingPictures, but it was a no go for me.

Re: NewBlueFX Viedo Essentials V Basic Tutorial and Review
Thanks for the rundown on the program. It is sad that it doesn't work fully in Avid/Pinnacle Studio 16. As you said, it has been a couple of months and there has been nothing mentioned about a fix from NewBlue. Very disappointing from a company that has great add-on products that help being more creative. I WANT secondary color correction and thought that selective color would do until it is hopefully incorporated in a future version of PS16, but it just doesn't work. Great job again giving a quick overview of what this product can do in enhancing your videos, and for including me in the video!! Well, at least Saby and my comments from the forum! BTW, I couldn't post to the video on the youtube site.

Re: NewBlueFX Viedo Essentials V Basic Tutorial and Review
I downloaded Video Essentials VI yesterday but it does not work with Pinnacle. I emailed support and they confirmed it did not and said they did not know if/when it would be.

Re: NewBlueFX Viedo Essentials V Basic Tutorial and Review
Look what they did with 5. One third of it does not work in AS or PS16, but fully works in PS15. It's like they do not think that there is a market here anymore for their products. Especially now since there is no longer the much popular legacy Studio. This is where Corel can leverage their potential with NBFX. They use their products in VideoStudioPro, why not in PS16? I too tried "VI" yesterday and like the features. I would buy it if it worked, but as you stated, it's a no go. No listing for the plug-in even in PS15.

I definitely would have bought too - the offer of 30% discount was too good to miss.

Re: Transferring Tooint and 3D Stroke to Pinnacle Studio 16 - if you don't have AVID Studio
Hi all,
1. Yes, the AVID Studio 3D Stroke plugin works in Pinnacle Studio 16. Other msgs how to transfer it.
2. No, 3 D stroke from PS 14 or PS 15 won't work. FYI: TuneIt from PS 15 does work fine in PS16U
3. Here is how you can get 3D Stroke (and Tuneit if you need that one, too):
a. Go to the AVID website, click DOWNLOADS then D/L AVID Studio Trial.
Note: The trial version has everything the paid version has but with a 30 day limit. HINT - DO NOT USE the optional Download Manager .. .unless you like spam ...
b. Just click the optional direct link below on that page. You will be D/L'ing a single 2.3GB file. Next, You WILL NOT be installing AVID Studio. After D/L complete click install then wait ...
c. Eventually, you will see the dialog where you can only select Install Avid Studio (Plugins will be shaded at that time).
d. You will see that the files in the exe archive extract to a temp folder.
e. After it completes the extraction, you are able to calmly click CANCEL to the actual installation.
f. Next, go to the temp folder (you'll find it but can ask if you are lost).
g. Drill down to the Plugins subfolder that will have Red Giant sub sub folder with the jewel that you are looking for. As long as you Pinnacle 16 on your PC, of course you do or you would not read this far.... click on TC3DStrokeStudio.exe.
h. You will see the TC3DStroke folder under Program Files (x86) called plugins (just created) under it will be the extracted TC3DStroke folder that you need to move under PS16 as you've read in the prior msg.
Enjoy,
Ira

Re: NewBlueFX Viedo Essentials V Basic Tutorial and Review
Hey anytime Tony. I was glad to give you a shout out (should have given you one on the Transferring Plugins as well but I forgot to get it in the video - My bad). It is disappointing that New Blue hasn't addressed the issue of the featurs that don't work. You expect everything in a plugin to work when you get it and when it doesn't it can be a huge downer.

Re: A Very Jazzy Christmas from PinnacleStudioPro
No problem! While the plugin scene within the Pinnacle line is slim, there are still some compelling tools that can be used in video. You have shown what can be done with these tools. It really bites that NewBlue doesn't seem to have a plan for fixing Video Essentials V. And again, they don't even list any Pinnacle product for VI, but they do list a couple of other consumer NLE's, but not even Corel's VideoStudioPro. Sad, but have a wonderful Merry Christmas and keep the tut's coming!

Re: A Very Jazzy Christmas from PinnacleStudioPro
Hey Tony P. I noticed that Pinnacle was not compatible on Video Essentials VI as well. They only list the following video editing host applications under the compatibility section on the product page: - Adobe After Effects 7.0 +
- Adobe Premiere Elements** 3.0
- Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, CS5/5.5, CS6/6.5
- Apple Final Cut Pro 6, 7, and X
- Avid Media Composer & Symphony 5, 6/6.5
- Grass Valley Edius 4, 5/5.5, 6/6.5
- Sony Vegas Pro 9, 10, 11, 12 (32-bit/64-bit OpenFX/DirectX)
- Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9, 10, 11, 12 (32-bit/64-bit OpenFX/DirectX)
Oh well, I guess they figured if you can't fix it, don't offer it. Merry Christmas to you too as well buddy, and Happy New Year.
