Another smaller finished project in 15 hours. 41 minutes.

But 1691 slices. Not a single crash.

Maybe this will be my next system for Next Gem.

It launches at the same time.

    AL Diary Final

This is the doc I am starting to edit after 8 months of shootings at HDV. It will be around 30 minutes.

I have all the OFF applied and now I will work on Image and Music.

I think I have good shots though.

Everything goes very smooth like SD but the effects takes longer to render.

I think it's the same time it takes for EX1 shots. For 1-3 seconds effects the render goes really fast.

After those it tends to go slower even on my RAID 0.

Those are complex though as they are Digtial Juice timewarped and other 3 stack on them.

I am not sure at SD all of those stacked would be much faster.

    Re: AL Diary Final

I was at my mother's in law near the sea this Weekend but I had to work some of the show.

At Virginia's laptop and with my e-SATA thing s were pretty well.

I am used to dual monitor setup but I have worked like that again.

SD projects are fine as far as you don't use GPU (8600 GS) and the fuse of the multicam I made was very fast (CPU T8100).

But with HDV things weren't nowhere near to Quad Core. Of course at home I render to RAID 0 where at the laptop I used the 2nd partition of the main disk...

But LIquid went just fine for the part of the show I did there. Just fine.

    1st full HDV project.

Finished in less than 3 days.

    823 elements on timeline.

    670 clips.

    30 minutes.

Export at DVD in... 44 minutes.

    CPU was at 42% max.

I mean when creating the DVD.

If the CPU was at 80 the time would be around 20 minutes.

    Re: AL Diary Final

This is my last post to the forums untill new things are happening. I can't take warnings from anyone.

Don't let anyone tell you that MC or anything is better than Liquid because it isn't.

I have tested Liquid with my own films which played around the festivals in Greece and abroad

and with real shows of 45-50 minutes delivered in less than 14 hours with just by a piece of software only.

Liquid is the greatest NLE ever made.

Please Lew and I mean please give my BEST wishes to Munich team. I respect and admire them. Wilted Flower

    Fade out.

    The End.

    Re: AL Diary Final

I have created -now that I have finished the doc- BD and HD-DVD files from within Studio's timeline.

I have a folder BDMV folder.

Is this all someone needs to create a BD title?

    Does anyone knows?

Thanks Thomas, I know very well where I am.

I haven't asked something about Studio.

I asked if those are compliant BD files.

Here it seems that those files are what a BD disc needs to be burned.

George, my english again maybe but I do not understand anything, what are  " they "   filetype and speed   please  , and to create a bluray disc you need an application that will convert your files to the  " vob "  type of bluray , the  filetype is m2ts and they need to be placed in the correct folder structure for bluray in the same way as , for example  , dvd discs needs to have the correct structure

    Re: AL Diary Final

That seems to look ok George, inside the stream folder are the m2ts files, the actual videofiles, you can compare them with vob-s in a dvd disc

So, have you bought yourself a bluray player yet?

    Re: AL Diary Final

    No!

It's now 215 euros for the LG H20L but as I am not going to deliver other projects anytime soon in HD I will wait for them to drop as low as possible.

The biggest concern is the price of the disks. Even for a backup BD is fine but DL now I can find for as low as 1 euro per disk while BD's aren't cheaper from 12!

I have made a BD folder and an HD-DVD image through Studio so I will give them with the final DVD for the doc I made as bonus.

    Re: AL Diary Final

I really don't understand why the SP3 link has been deleted.

I install it and is working even better than before.

If some users can mess things up is the SP3 to blame?

If someone can install right the 7.2.1 this means it will be deleted?

    I can't understand that thought.

I have install SP3 and it works wonderfull.

I will update the time I will buy a 4850 and I will test the 7.2.1.

  •  07-21-2008, 13:05 214010 in reply to 213977

    Re: AL Diary Final

I deleted it because Microsoft does not recommend using the full installer but rather to update to SP3 through the Windows Update tool. That is what I did. It is really not necessary to install all the components of SP3 in most cases, just some as most will already be there from previous updates.

    AL Diary Final

I will probably stay at XP SP3 which is a safe way for editing.

I tried to find a replacement for Liquid and I really can't.

    If only Adobe had Liquid...

Anyway I ordered a new 160G WD RE2 with 16mb cache for the OS ( I thought of a Raptor but it's three times the new RE2 which is not that bad).

And I will reinstall everything and I will make a new image with Acronis.

    XP SP3, Liquid 7.2.1 etc.

I hope that someone could provide me a with a new serial number if my own fails as I have used it for 3-4 times.

P.S. I might move to Vista Ultimate 32bit only and when NextGen will need it.

    Re: AL Diary Final

Don't worry about the serial number. You will be fine. If you do run out of installs at some point, the counter can be reset. Good move to stay on XP.

I hope the promise for Next Gem will stay alive Lew.

I tried again Vegas 8 and Premiere CS3 and they look so pale compared to Liquid.

I will not make any new format for the moment as the image (46G) from Acronis I have works great.

This is the test from my 4850.

    Re: AL Diary Final

One of the most useful things I have ever bought is that Sharkoon QuickSata Pro for only 36 euros.

I have 4 SATA discs which now I can input one by one and backup everything very quickly,

Installing the  Jmicron driver I can safely remove and add everyone of them very quickly.

I have connected it through e-SATA but it has also USB2 connections and another 2xUSB ports and Card Reader at the body.

Plus the disc isn't in an enclosure and can't be very hot by that.

    Re: AL Diary Final

I finally reinstall everything and took a new Acronis image of app 9G.

This is my final image as to Liquid and XP SP3.

    All is working fine.
