What if you do it "for the grand kids"?  Maybe then she'll let you do it.

Anyhoo, I hope things work out and you are able to multi-task, Dave.  But if not, grand babies would certainly come first.

Yeppers, I am finding that the chores are getting in the way too, but I am giving it my best shot.  It will probably come down to the wire, but somehow, (....as Larry the Cable Guy would say) we'll 'git 'er dun.  Cool

    Re: Pinhead Group Project

    I just uploaded my clip.

Title:  Pinhead in "A Black and White Castle".
Synopsis:  Pinhead visits an eerie castle, and makes a startling discovery.
    Format:  2D

It has a Halloween theme.  Hopefully it'll get posted in time for you to view it this evening.

As usual, I had a great time putting it together.  I'm looking forward to more entries.  I know Colour is working on one, and others have good intentions, which hopefully will become clips.

    UPDATE:

I uploaded the video to Vimeo.com.  Here is a link to "A Black and White Castle".

I don't think there is any download feature, but hopefully the full-screen view will work OK for you.

An inspiration for any other Studio Users, who might be considering submitting a ClipWinkWink.

All done, using just S11, SmartsoundsYes & Pinhead supplied Images.

Well - You're the 2D Pan/Zoom/Keyframe expert - I loved the way you got Pinhead walking up the stairs & turning at the top, without animation.

The final touch at the end, completed your Halloween story. All done, in the style of the Silent movies.

    Re: Pinhead Group Project

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.  Embarrassed

There were one or two things I wanted to do slightly differently with the audio.  It's funny how quickly you can wish you had one more track for some overlapping music, sound effects, etc.  I often used two music tracks on this video.  One was more of an eerie ambient sound, the other was a pulsating beat.  Then I had a knocking, and a creaking door.  I considered adding footstep sounds for when Pinhead walked.  I was trying to put a "stinger" (a little burst of sound for emphasis) when Pinhead goes "gulp", but I was having trouble finding one I liked.  The one I was working with the most was part of a song, and I couldn't trim it right without having it sound cut-off.  I also struggled with the bad audio handles in S11, so eventually I did without it.  (I suppose I could have used Audigy for that.)

It would be easy to consume 5 audio tracks.  But then of course it would take an extra month just to play with the music, and I'd never get done.

Overall, I achieved what I wanted to accomplish (even if it was a bit cheesy - but I won't reveal any secrets here, yet).  Sometimes it seems the minute I upload a clip I find a dozen things I want to change.  But once in a while I'm able to look back and be satisfied with the result.  Whether the vision was corny, scary, funny, or dramatic, it is always nice when you can do a fair job of making the vision come to life.  And when other people are able to enjoy it, that makes it even sweeter.

I am really looking forward to more clips, both 2D and 3D.  Yes

    Nice job, Colour.

The iClone 3D animations were great, and so was the large collection of audio effects.

It was a lot of fun to see the committee members in their true form.  Big Smile  I always knew that the committee had to work with a low budget, but I imagined their office space to be a bit more glitzy and sophisticated, but now I know better.  If I win a lottery, maybe I'll help pay for a new office.

I hope you have time to make a Silent Movie too.

    P.S.

Colour's clip is in the "Fun Clip" category but I had trouble finding it.  (I had a bad mouse day.)

I missed the clip the first time I looked for it.  I saw the current project with the previous project underneath.  So then I went to the "Clips archive" page and looked in the "Fun Clips" but didn't see it there either.  I decided maybe it wasn't done being posted yet.

Colour's clip is on the "View Clips" page, and then you scroll to the very bottom where you will find a couple Fun Clips.

    To All Studio Users:

    Last year's (& 1st Autumn "Mini Project") attracted 23 entries (11.5 2D & 11.5 3DWink). So-far, only 1 2D & 1 3D submitted - A bit disappointingSad. However there are others in the pipeline.Big Smile

If you've watched Viking's Clip, all done in just S11, I'm sure that all those who have the time to do -so, can submit an entertaining Clip.

It would be encouraging for those of us who are Loyal Pinhead Fans & are "Beavering-away" at our respective Clips, if there are others willing to join us. New-comers, more than welcome.Smile

There's still plenty of time. Once you've done one Pinead Clip, you'll become addicted & want to do another.

    ThanksSmile

    Wow - Great story, Raven!

I don't know why, but "Ding Dong" made me laugh.  I did "Knock knock knock", so I don't know why "Ding Dong" struck me as so amusing, but it did.

    Anyway, very nicely done.

    Very clever Storyline.

Maybe you can share the secret of  how you got the printer to functionWink. I recall that last year's 2D entry by Sparks, had a printer, printing a pair of paper shorts for Pinhead, that dissolved in the sun.

    2 More Clips Posted:

"Pinhead In Adventures With Jimmy Toon " 3D By Dulci.

"Pinhead & Jimmy Toon go for a trek across the Desert & come across an unexpected friend."

I know Pinhead has a penchant for stealing things. Did he steal or borrow the transport from Fred Flinstone, Dulci?Wink

Great piano accompaniment in sync with the action. That was a clever shot through the back of the vehicle's torn awning.

    Very enjoyableBig Smile

"Pinhead's Mis-Fortune. The Final Chapter" 2D by Kayla.

"Pinhead goes to the land of snow to meet & marry his own true love".

Poor Pinhead - He's relegated to putting the garbage out. But he gets his revenge.

Great Clip Kayla & very cleverly done. (More appropriate comments from others in Pinhead Thread, in Video Friends Forum.)

    So - It's still "Even Stevens", with 2D & 3D Editors Level-pegging, with 3 a-piece & hopefully, many more to comeWinkWink

    Dulci:

Great clip.  I loved the expressions on their faces when Wally (not Wall-E) and Jimmy looked at each other.  I think I know exactly how they felt.

The camera direction was very well done, such as looking forward through the rear window.  Nice work.

    Joe:

Wow, you continue to be the master of effects, including your trademark foreground/background work with Pinhead in between.  Excellent story line too.  It made me look forward to Chapter 8.  Bring it on.  I can smell the popcorn already.

I have a special challenge for you.  I wonder if you could add Pinhead's glasses to his face AFTER applying Crazy Talk.  That would be to avoid having his glasses distort with the change in facial expressions.  This is not a criticism by any stretch of the imagination.  It is a technical challenge to a person whom I consider to be the master of technical effects.  Perhaps you could post a little 20-second proof-of-concept clip on YouTube or something like that, if you accept my challenge.

    Kayla:

Once again you bring your very special sense of humor to the world of Pinhead.  It is amazing how such a simple activity can be turned into a compelling story.  That illustrates once again what makes these contests so great.

They say most writers draw from their own personal experiences.  This clip may reveal more than you realize.

I was also fascinated by your stove.  It looks so clean, almost like it's never been used.

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE FOR ALL THE GREAT CLIPS.  I EAGERLY AWAIT THE NEXT ONES.

I've actually done that already. If you look at the short 2:15 video on the pinheadHQ page you'll see that Pinny's glasses don't distort when he talks. It's not quite as obvious because his expressions aren't as dramatic as in the silent movie.

Honestly, I should have done it the right way but I was just being a little lazy. I wanted to get the video up and running so we'd have more chatter on the forums about the project. Little did I realize that Ivor the Meany would foil my plans with his dastardly . . . . . . . .no wait, that's not right. Tongue Tied

Little did I realize that 2 more videos would be posted almost immediately after mine went up.

    Joe

P.S. I made another short video anyway with the "non-bendable" glasses.
