If you have a newer DX10 video card, you need to install this patch for Liquid to render your effects correctly. It makes no difference what version of DirectX you are running. This is a hardware issue and the patch is required if your video card supports DX10. Make sure to delete all render files after you install this patch and let your sequence re-render using the new render engine which is installed with the patch.
