Yes, Ladies and Germs....it's time to announce a new Pinhead project.  We finally got our act together, largely due to Joe kicking our butts and he is largely responsible for this launch.  So thanks Joe!!!Yes

The new project is posted at www.pinheadhq.com.

I don't want to spoil the initial surprise, so I'll let you folks visit and check it out.  We'll post more info after you have had time to digest the idea.

    Questions are welcome!! Big Smile

    Ohhh... goodie goodie goodie!

You've never participated in a Pinhead project?  Oh, you really should.  Please consider joining us.  It is a lot of fun and it is always a learning experience.

There are no monetary prizes at stake, so there's no pressure.

Check out www.PinheadHQ.com and feel free to ask any questions.

    The more the merrier.

    Re: Pinhead Group Project

I am happy to announce a new Pinhead "mini" fun Project which we call "The Pinhead Silent Movie Project". Can you guess what the hook is? [click to view image]"> This project is just for fun and has no prizes, but will have an on-line vote at the end. This project could be especially fun for those who have Iclone 4, as it will give you a chance to use the pupeteering function on the faces - as faces will really help convey your message. As usual, there will be 2 dividions, Iclone and 2D. The rules are as follows:

    1) Create a video starring Pinhead about anything, but it must be “silent” and in the spirit of the “Silent Movie” days. Here is a small example found on youtube. Look up Charlie Chaplin for more examples. Silent films can be dramatic, you are not limited to comedies here. Example here

    2) Video must be in Black and White.

    3) Use of music is permitted, and we encourage you to use music fitting of that era. Here is a link to some music royalty free. Free Silent Music

    4) Video should be a minimum of 1 minute long and no longer than 5 minutes. We suggest 2 minutes as ideal.

    4) There are no prizes, just an on line vote for the Golden Pinheads. Vote will cover 4 categories.
    a) Storyline
[click to view image] Adherence to the theme
    c) Use of music
    d) Use of Pinhead

    5) Competition ends Late November.

We have provided a corrected Iclone 3 Pinhead for download plus an Iclone 4 version. He had no eyes when I imported him. [click to view image]"> Also, there are several "tiles" available for download, similar to those used for text back in the day.

There are plenty of samples of silent films on youtube .

I hope you will join in - I am looking forward to just trying to control Pinhead's face in Iclone - I never have done much with the pupeteering feature in Crazy Talk.

Please visit www.pinheadhq.com to see the Video Clip introducing the contest which was by one of our committee members using Crazy Talk and the pupeteering feature.

Okay, here is my contribution.  Studio's Old Time Movie Effect was used.  There are two I think.  The basic one and the RTFX one.  This was from RTFX.  I used Studio 12 (cause I can still add smartsound easilyDevil)

This was so much fun to do, and a great way to relieve stress. Smile  I hope some of you will participate.  I realize 2D versions will be a little trickier, but post here if you need any help with anything.

    Re: Pinhead Group Project

    I have my idea.

Before select "my idea" that I referred to in an older post, I was considering the classic damsel in distress, and I was thinking of doing some miniature puppetry with my brother-in-law's model train set.  But that's not what I decided to do.

As is typical for me, I am going "old school" and using mostly original 2D Pinhead TIF files.  After all, shouldn't an old-fashioned movie use old pictures?  Wink

Besides, it'll be a reminder to other people, especially new people, that you don't have to be sophisticated and use complex tools.  Mostly you need to have a sense of adventure and be willing to have some fun.

I have started on my project and am enjoying working on it, as always.  Is anyone else making any progress?

My "idea" was similar in scope with some use of a green screen.  But, honey-do's have filled my plate.  Seems that her goal of being the best grandmother ever Stick out tongue will require a fair amount of help from grandpa.  So it looks like I will be absent for this Pinhead project. Sad
