    Re: Studio Removal Tool

I'd love to "dump" 14 off my computer as it is causing problems, but when I go to remove programs, there is no exe file to remove, just what looks like a help file  icon  as in the image ..

I did start a thread before http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/thread/342519.aspx but there was no solution so far  ...

    Re: Studio Removal Tool

How about installing Studio 14 on top of the present installation?

See if that is possible on your situation.

    Re: Studio Removal Tool

Ya can't do that, it says it can not be used to repair, uninstall and reinstall, and if I could I would ...

Hey Mark, I wish I could, but the icon for 14 does not point to studio ....

I'm just guessing here, but I did do a re-install the same day as I downloaded the upgrade as something was messed up, thats when the wrong icon got placed there, as for the install window that pops up every time I run studio (this happens for both 12 and 14) I'm thinking this has to do with either a pixie registration tool of some sort, or Scorefitter (go figure) from looking at some log files

    Re: Studio Removal Tool

I think this involves a more serious approach to remove the software. See section 2 of this article.

Well, that didn't go very well ... I followed all the instructions in the article, part 2, and now , none of my Studio version work at all (10, 12 or 14) , I get the following error message at start up, I did search the K-Base, but there's nothing in there for this ... I did notice when I was running the install for 14, it didn't look quite right form the original install ... I can't buy a new system to overcome this, as I bought this one 3 months ago to do video editing ... any suggestions/guesses of whats next?

Sorry about that. The section 2 of that FAQ is actually what we recommend for that new error message that you got. Let me have a look around for other things you can try. In the meantime, anyone else?

Thanks for the effort Mark, but as bad as the Studio section had gotten, I didn't see any other Way but to format the HD and start all over again, if you could, may I pm you for assistance in getting everything downloaded, I do have all my receipts and e-mail, but I'm not sure I have all the files that I downloaded ...

    Re: Studio Removal Tool

The most important part of Section 2 that addresses the error message "Studio iuses no or invalid product ID" is the regdelete.  Since Studio 10, When this error comes up, we suggest to uninstall the software and use Regdelete too. When using regdelete tool, choose the option for

    1. All Products

    2. User Registration and activation data

Reinstall and see if that helps.

    Re: Studio Removal Tool

This issue seems similar to mine http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/ShowThread.aspx?PostID=355073#355073 where Studio 14 is indicating a previous version exists and won't uninistall or run - although strangely it will install from hard drive.

Reinstalling Windows in my case is not an option, it must be possible to see what the program or uninstaller is detecting when it gets these messages
