    Studio 14 and Previous Plugins

Why can't Studio 14 automatically take advantage of/install any/all previous plugins that are compatible with S14 and are already on your computer?

No Bias SoundSoap, previous video effects missing, etc.

If find myself going back to S12 rather than facing the obstacles of figuring out how to get the effects I want into S14.

Re: Studio 14 and Previous Plugins

I have just reinstalled my PC from scratch, so am trying to do a clean install of Studio 14 Ultimate Collection.  I wanted to try and do it without installing any previous versions - just to use their content if possible.  Most seem to have been transferred, but Boris FX, from Studiio 12, hasn't.

I used the standalone Boris installer and now it appears in the list of plugins but it appears as locked and needs activating.  Does anyone know how to achieve this?

     Thanks

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

I had the same problem when I installed direct from the Boris installer.  My solution was to install Studio 12, including Boris, then copy the Boris folder over to S14.

Did it automatically show up in the S14 UI? If yes, I wonder if this will work for Bias SoundSoap.

    Hi Bob,

Bias Soundsoap appears to be working OK for me in S14.  I haven't had cause to test it thoroughly.

added: IIRC Soundsoap transferred across via the wizard - no special action required.

Re: Studio 14 and Previous Plugins

Forgive me for asking what is probably a simple question ... I haven't had time to pay much attention to S14 yet because of so many active projects ... but S14 was supposed to automatically transfer content from S12 to S14. I have S12 on the machine that I installed S14, and it says it transferred all available content, but it did not transfer SoundSoap. When I run the wizard, it says there is nothing to transfer.

I can't remember ... was SoundSoap orginally an S11 plugin?

Anyway, for now, I continue to use S12 for everything.

    Hi Bob,

Yes, Soundsoap came with S11.  I don't think the S12 to S14 transfer process is reliable. The wizard apparently doesn't look at S12 - the wizard is meant for earlier versions.

Maybe copying the Soundsoap folder across to S14 from S12 will work.  It did in my case for Boris, but Soundsoap has a mind of it's own.  Still might be worth trying.

Another thing - if IIRC you can run the wizard on the install disk of S11?  If so, that might be worth trying.

    Hi Pinshel,

Did you have to run the CTW again after copying the Soundsoap folder in order to successfully transfer it to 14?

    Hi Marc,

No, I only ran it once. I just checked in S14 and Soundsoap starts OK.

After you moved the plug ins to S14 how did you get the program to recognize they were there?

Re: Studio 14 and Previous Plugins

Try running the Content Transfer Wizard.
