    frame rate problem

For some reason, the audio plays fine but the frame rate cannot keep up. One minute its playing fine, then I add another video and it starts to stuff up. Its not an individual video or anything and they were all recorded on the same camera.

Anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it?

Is this just a preview issue?

Are you working with background render on or off?

    Re: frame rate problem

I guess so. Once I put in 2 or 3 videos, cut a few things and play it back to see how it looks so far, they dont play right. So its impossible to tell if it looks good or not.

Background renderring is on, and  the option 'Set codec automatically' is selected.

was this during edit or make movie that you are getting this frame rate problem? i get this in EDIT, but on make movie it usually does not present itself.

    Re: frame rate problem

Edit. There are some issues during make Movie but at least I can try again and its fine. This other problem never goes away until the video is made. So editing goes from awesome fun, to a very small amount of fun with a large amount of annoyance.

Please post your PC specifications and the format and specifications of the video clips you are editing.  Often one or the other will affect the preview.

    Re: frame rate problem

Looks like this isn't resolved. I have kind of the same problem. I import HD vidio form a Canon camera, (New). It runs smooth but the video is way ahead of the vlice. As a matter of fact the video gets to the end and the voice stops talking before finishing what was suppose to be said.  See this in Make movie also when just playing.  Saw this before but it seemed to fix itself when the actual movie was made.  Problem is I can't edit any voice over stuff or music since I can'f igure out where it should go.
