Hi, I just got off the phone with Avid/Pinnacle support and asked about activation keys. None of my act.keys will activate.  Told him that I was running S12 plus on Win7. His reply was that Avid does not support running S12 on win7. It seems to me that I read several post about S12 running fine on W7 and that is why I went ahead and purchased S12. And 7 isn't that much different than Vista so why are they not supporting running S12 on Win7? 

My problem is that I purchased a package of transition awhile back and I had a defferent email address then and though that this might be the problem.  I copied the Pixie file from my old machine to my new machine to C:\program data\pinnacle\pixie . All the emails from Pinnacle with new activation keys do not work,"invalid key" or "product not found" I also have an add on ProDad with transtions that don't work. Can anybody help me? Thank you in addvance for your help!!

THANKS EUGENE, I JUST FINNISHED BURNING MY FRIST PROJECT AND EVERTHING WENT WELL.IF MS SAYS THAT 12 &14 ARE COPATABLE, SO WHY DOESN'T PINNACLE SUPORT IT?

I HAVE NO CLUE WHY MY ACTIVATION KEYS ARE NOT WORKING MYBE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME WITH THAT? I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING EXCEPT REINSTALING 12.

FYI  I overlooked the transfer Content and discovered by it accident. I went ahead and transfered my content and I still could not get any keys to work until I opened the help bar on S12 and clicked the regenerate activation keys.The new keys worked but I am still missing 4 or 5 transtions that I had on S10.8. All of my ProDad content seems to be there. I will keep trying to find those  missing transtions.

I got it to install w/o a hitch in win7 home premium 64 bit edition...just can't get sound to work...reliably

My S12 installed without hitch and the sounds works but I only have 6 add ons out of 14 when I was running S10.8.  It's too bad pinnacle has not responed on this forum.

I ran the Win7 advisor and it told me that I should uninstall Studio before switching from Vista - 64-bit and the re-install it after the upgrade. I still am not sure if I want Win7 or not but thought this might help.

I went from Vista Enterprise 32bit to Win7 Ultimate 64bit this weekend.   Installed to a freshly formatted hard drive and installed S12.  Only thing that I've noticed:  I had to install the winter pack twice (everything's there now) and the full screen video preview only plays on the main screen, can't get it play on my 2nd monitor.  Everything else seems to be working, and noticably faster....

  I'm not certain about this, but I don't think the above folder is where I copied the pixie folder.  I think it was under 'users', but I'll double check when I get home tonight

I am getting closer with the help of Pinnacle on line.  He/Pinnacle had me transferr S11contens which I never had. I had S10.8.  After the transfer all the Transitions that I was missing showed up and I am now waiting for the unlock keys from Pinnacle.  As soon as I get the keys and they work I will post the results.

I chose to go with 32 bit and have both monitors working correctly.  Had to ply around with resolution and my ATI control center to get displays to work in the xtended mode with S12.

Well I have both S12 and 14 sitting happily side by side on my Win 7 64bit machine, all seems happy they aren't arguing with each other 

FYI Pinnacle sent me new Activation Keys and this time they all worked and I am now ready to go to work with S12 & Win7.
