Quality of rendered text in menu/titles is horrible?

Quality of rendered text in menu/titles is horrible?

I'm making great progress on my slideshow.  I've got everything set and I've rendered and burned a few different versions, with improvement along the way.  However, I've noticed that in my [few] titles - and 1 main menu up front - the text looks horrible!  The font is very grainy.  The images are beautiful - so I would say the rendering process is great.  (I'm rendering to burn to DVD).

What am I missing on the font?  I've got a bunch of fonts loaded in windows, and pinnacle seems to be picking these up just fine.  I have rendered projects in the past (with Studio 10 - now I'm on Studio 12.1 Plus) and this did not seem to happen - why would this happen?

Actually - when I look more closely - the titles seem okay - but it's the menu that is very grainy.  It's a simple title.  1 text box and 1 button, to start the show...

Any advice greatly appreciated - running out of time for the grandparents 65th anniversary party this Saturday night!

UPDATE:  I also tried rendering an image to an MPEG2 file.  This quality is great.  But I have noticed the quality of the DVD to be much less - Particularly the Menu text is very very grainy - but overall the quality is not as good.  What am I missing!!??

Put a blank (black) frame on the overlay track beneath your menu and trim it to equal the length of the menu.  That may change the fuzziness of the text box in the menu on the primary track.  This is only a workaround that some claim worked for them.  If it does or does not work for you, please report back, so the theory can be confirmed or quashed.

Alternatively, perhaps you can change the font style or type to achieve text that won't make the viewers think they've got catarracts.

With high definition disc projects (AVCHD-DVD or Blu-ray), the resulting menu text appears ultra-clear.  Since most of my work is HD, I avoid the fuzzy text that way.  However, I do concur that the text in Studio 12.1 projects burned to standard definition discs looks blurrier than it should, even for SD.

Can any Studio 14 users attest whether menu text appears better in standard definition disc burned with that version?
