I also posted a similar thread in Movie Making, as I thought it was a rendering issue, but now I'm not so sure.

I am using a standard menu as a main menu in front of my slide show (simple menu with 1 text box and 1 button - just to start the show.)

Even in preview - and also in the final rendered product, the quality of the menu is horrible - but the rest of the slideshow is great.

I have tried a few different standard menus with different fonts - even just tried using the menu without any editing - same results.

What am I MISSING!??

You've probably missed all of the threads discussing how S12's menus tend to render out as low-quality. 

 

There is *supposedly* some improvement as of S12.1...no idea about S14.  But regardless, you can find a link to an earlier thread here that might give you some more info.
