    Windows 7 - Studio 11

    Here are my system specs:

    Gigabyte GA-M57SLI

    Phenom II X4 925 Socket AM3 processor

    8GB Ram

    60GB SSD + 1TB HDD

    Hauppauge HVR-1800 Capture Card

Realtek HD Audio Chipset (Motherboard) with S/PDIF I/O and all the analog bits

    Windows 7 Enterprise + Studio 11.1.2.5231

I can capture video and audio using the video from the Hauppauge card and any of the analog inputs on the motherboard, but I cannot capture with audio using either the S/PDIF Digital input or the 2-Channel analog stereo input on the Hauppauge card.

When I attempt to capture using the analog input on the Hauppauge card, I get approximately 0.1s of audio at the beginning of the clip, followed by silence.

When I attempt to capture using the S/PDIF input, I get no audio at all, and no indication of audio on the Audio Flyout panel on the capture screen (although I can listen to that input using other s/w or the Realtek audio control panel)

Has anyone had success with these Realtek chipsets and the Hauppauge card? I doubt this has anything to do with Win7 since it's just Vista+bugfixes...

Also, but unrelated, for some weird reason, the program is calling itself Studio Plus when it's supposed to be Ultimate... maybe I just forgot to activate something...

    Thanks in advance

the program is calling itself Studio Plus when it's supposed to be Ultimate...
S11 Ultimate Prog is exactly the Same as S11 Plus Prog. The "Ultimate" refers to the 3 additional 3rd Party Plugins.

Can't help you with the rest of it I'm afraid.

    Anyone-else?

Were you able to make this work before? perhaps with an older OS?

Unfortunately I have no data. I didn't try to use this feature until I got my new machine which had the coaxial S/PDIF input on it, and Windows 7.

    Re: Windows 7 - Studio 11

I'm afraid this is a specific issue between this card and how it works with Studio 11. I do not have any experience of using it with S11 unfortunately. What exactly is your purpose of attempting to capture in S/PDIF through the capture card? Are you not able to record sound coming from the card through your motherboard audio ports?

    Re: Windows 7 - Studio 11

The S/PDIF input is on the motherboard, not the capture card. S11 will not capture audio via the analog inputs on the Hauppauge card. It will capture from an analog port on the motherboard, but not the digital port.

The intended purpose is to use the digital rather than the analog input to capture audio.

Thanks for clearing that out. How are you capturing from it? Isn't the S/PDIF on the motherboard only works as an output?
