TDK Pro and Liquid 7.x install on W7

I just installed Avid L7.21 and as expected TDK RT did not work. I uninstalled that and installed TDK Pro 2.x and set it to Windows XP SP2. TDK Pro does run by itself... how do I get Avid Liquid 7.21 to recoginize it from within?

    thanks,

    Barry

I have been told that the install thread not can be followed with W7 Home because of the lack of possibility to switch TDK Pro to   " install in XP mode "  and that this feature only is able to use with W7 Pro or Ultimate, your prob seems to confirm that, Liquid isn´t officially supported with Vista or W7 but seems to work well with the Pro and Ultimate versions.

Re: TDK Pro and Liquid 7.x install on W7

    Tomas,

Thanks for the reply. Based on your knowledge I ordered the Professional Upgrade and have downloaded, in anticpation, the 2 programs for Windows XP mode .

    Questions:

    1) Do I even need the XP mode software or will Liquid 7.2 run okay directly under W7?

    2) Regarding TDK. Will the original TDK RT run within the XP mode software?

    3) Should I uninstall Liquid 7.2 and reinstall within XP mode software... is this necessary?

    4) TDK Pro... should I uninstall and reinstall or will XP mode pick it up? Is the XP mode software even necessary or will it run under W7 professional as is.

Finally and unrelated: I updated with 7.21 Direct X software but no matter how many times I have done so the Liquid shows as 7.20 build 4296 SP1 4345. Do you know why this might be happening?

    Thanks,

    Barry

Liquid will run directly under W7.

    2) Regarding TDK. Will the original TDK RT run within the XP mode software?

The RT didn´t work with Vista, I haven´t tried with RT and W7, I know that TDK Pro works very well.

    3) Should I uninstall Liquid 7.2 and reinstall within XP mode software... is this necessary?

No, just follow the install thread, sentence by sentence

    4) TDK Pro... should I uninstall and reinstall or will XP mode pick it up? Is the XP mode software even necessary or will it run under W7 professional as is.

    as above, the install thread

Finally and unrelated: I updated with 7.21 Direct X software but no matter how many times I have done so the Liquid shows as 7.20 build 4296 SP1 4345. Do you know why this might be happening?

that is the correct version number for 7,21  if you only have 7,2 , the version number is 4296 only

Re: TDK Pro and Liquid 7.x install on W7

I have been using TDko Pro with Liquid on both W7 beta and RC1 with no problems.  I doesn't require to much changes and runs like it did in XP.  I have UAC turned off (nuisance) and have Edition.exe set to run in Administrator mode.  No other changes.
