    Vitascene nonfunctional after patch install

Yep... Vitascene was working fine in S12 and now S14 UNTIL I decided to "patch" it for memory leaks with v1.0.44. Now, it still is listed in the effects list, but will not work. Is there a way to re install it? Emailed Prodad and will see what they have to say. Tried a Repair of S14 to no success.

VitaScene has it's own Installer, in S12 Plugins CD. You might be given the option to Repair it, when you insert the CD. Otherwise you could try Installing it, overwriting existing Installation, or Removing it from ADD/REM PROGS & then Reinstalling it & then Transferring to S14, via S14 Transfer Wizard.

Thanks for the fast reply! I will give that a try right now.  Nothing like Beta testing....

Re: Vitascene nonfunctional after patch install

I have found that  vitascene, Heroglyph and windows 7 do not like each other, neither of these 2 programs are working on windows 7 even with the new service pack patch

Mercelli & Adorage work without a problem

ProDad tell you to disable desktop composition which I have done - doesn't help

Same here! Installed the patch (which you can't uninstall unless anyone knows better) and just does nothing.

I am using W7 S12U if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it!

Re: Vitascene nonfunctional after patch install

    WARNING !!!!

There are 2 proDAD VitaScene ServicePacks, the first SP is for all NLEs without Pinnacle Studio and Edius/Neo. The second SP is for Edius/Neo user. For Pinnacle Studio, you need no ServicePack !!!!

For Pinnacle Studio, please deactivate the "Desktop Composition Mode" in Windows 7.
    1. Open Windows Explorer with Windows-Key + 'E'
    2. Right click Computer > Properties
    3. Advanced System Settings
    4. Under Performance click Settings
    5. Tick (Enable) or Untick (Disable) Enable Desktop Composition
    6. Apply

Can you tell us folks that did not know that what to do if we DID install the patch and no Vitascene no longer works? Thanks

    Declic

What you say is correct, the pinnacle studio version works fine in Windows 7, But I have purchased the full version of Vitascene and when you upgrade the Pinnacle Version to the full Version and install the Service Pack Vitascene stops working. (That Is with or without The service pack it will not start)

I uninstalled Vitascene from Add/Remove Programs, and then, from the S12 Ultimate disk Plug ins, added it again. Works in both S12 and S14, thanks to colour is not online. Last active: 10-29-2009, 23:12colour's suggestion in this thread.
