    Cloning

I have Pinnacle Studio version 12. It is NOT the Plus or Ultimate version. Does my version allow you to clone a person (ie: getting a person and his 'clone' in the same clip together at the same time as if they are talking to each other) or is this only possible with the Ultimate version. If it is possible, can anyone tell me step by step how to do it? Thank you

This might be better placed in the FX and plug-ins portion of the Forum.

Cloning would require use of the "green screen" effect.  First you film the person before a natural background.  Then you do a separate take of the person, situated to the other side of the frame, before a green screen.  There is then an effect to merge the two in an overlay and have both characters appear to stand before the natural background.  Check the manual.

The hard part to make "natural" is the continuity of any dialogue and the eyeglances.  Rehearse carefully.

Not really. It's quite possible to do this with a simple locked off camera and two passes, using the time honoured split screen effect. However, as the standard version of Studio doesn't allow for a second proper video track, I'm not sure if it is possible even then.

A workround with the title track might work, using JPs effects to do a crop, but I wouldn't like to promise anything Wink

Better late than nether, but what about my method here at Déclic-Vidéo ?

Only one track needed. Who said paradise was not on this earth ? Wink
