Creating a Transparent Background in Rendered File

I am using Studio 12 and would like to create a video file with a transparent background.  I will shoot the subject against a green screen and then want to make the green screen disappear so the background is completely transparent...the only thing that will be visible is the subject.

My plan is to use the video to liven up a website I have.

Is this possible with Studio 12?

    Thanks

Supposedly, yes.  Studio Plus (and Ultimate) has a Chromakey feature that is supposed to do what you describe.

I used the green screen feature in something last night. It works well and is pretty straightforward to use.

Just to give you an idea what they are talking about, read this long but informative article.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

The article was very helpful ...but I think I understand the basic priciples of green screen.  My challenge is that with the greenscreen image in the foreground ..I want the background to be invisible in the final rendering.  I think what I have to do is create a transparent tif file to use as video track one and then a greenscreen image in the foreground.  The ultimate flash file will be just the greenscreen image.

See the following website to see what I want to do.

If you can figure this out ....great!

    Thanks

Re: Creating a Transparent Background in Rendered File

If you are referring to the video on the banner at the top, Studio 12 Plus can do this.  You can take out the green background of a picture or a video and then put it on  top of another video or picture. Then output as an FLV or AVI for your final flash.

This would mean creating the entire movie in Studio with both videos included.   Or are you planning to output with transparent background and will use another program to mix two videos? Would like to know if Studio 12 exports alpha channel as well?

Re: Creating a Transparent Background in Rendered File

Has anyone ever found the answer to this. I am trying to do the same thing and need to export a 32 bit avi file with the alpha channel to create a flash video in Riva. It has to be 32 bit avi to keep the Alpha channel. I have been trying to find out if I can do the whole thing in Studio 12 Ultimate or at least the first part of the process. Keying out and exporting as the avi file. Please let me know. I am really interested in doing my own floating flash video spokesperson on the webpage. Kind of like what is on that real estate page but not tied inside the banner. Thank you all ahead of time.

Example of what I am talking about is at the following site. The guy walking on the page.
