I've got Pinnacle Studio 10.8 on my 32-bit Vista Home Premium system. When I go into the Studio program and switch "capture source" from a camera to the dazzle, I get a blue screen and my system crashes. What do I do?

Have you got the correct Vista drivers installed for your Dazzle? they can be downloaded from here

I have my system specs updated now. I'll try installing those drivers and see if it works any better.

I am having a similar problem.  My computer has Vista Home Premium 32bit, Pentium Dual E2200, 3GB Ram, Intel Graphics GMA 3100 w/ 286 MB memory, Direct X 10.  I got Studio Quickstart 10.5, updated to 10.8, then updated for Vista drivers, in that order.  The device manager says the driver is 2.6 I believe.  Studio opens fine, but when I click over to capture, I get the infamous Blue Screen and have to restart.  The capture device is Dazzle DVC 170.

My goal is to transfer VHS and Hi8 tapes.  I have Adobe Premier, would it be possible to use the USB device to capture directly into it?

 

I've spent the better chunk of today trying to get this to work.  I am very frustrated.  I've been reading the forum, and I find people like this fellow who has the same problem I do, but the driver solved his problem, but didn't solve mine.

Hi, I was able to solve this problem on my laptop. But after installing this on the family desktop, I've run into the problem again and updating the driver has not solved it. I have my updated system specs on my profile.

I have upgraded studio to 10.8, installed the vista patch and updated the Dazzle's drivers to 2.5.6

I also tried the above linked thread, still having the problem.

Can you provide us a description of what transpires?

I know you have updated your drivers, but this symptom is definitely pointing to a driver that is either corrupt or out of place. Can you try the driver removal and update procedure 1 more time, its in the post I linked above.

Part of the driver reload is to remove the old one first.

It's a bit confusing for Windows when drivers pile up.
