After selecting the DVD option under the settings for  "Make a Movie" tab I receive the following dialogue box "Activate MPEG-2 Encoding/Decoding - In order to ensure Studio 9 Quickstart has the latest components you must activate MPEG-2 Encoding/Decoding now.  Activation is free fast and easy".  When I select the "Activate Now" option for this dialogue box it opens a browser window for Pinnacle Premium Content.  The problem is here - once I complete the required information and click "Submit" nothing happens, the same browser page keeps coming back up.  Any ideas?

Send me your Studio 9 serial number, registered email address and Installation passport number through a private message. I'll see what can be done about this.

 I'm new to the forum. I am having this same problem. I'm running Studio 9.4.3 and I can't make a DVD. I get the message that I must activate MPEG-2 encoding. When I try to activate, it says my serial number is invalid. I uninstalled and reinstalled Studio using that same serial number. Still no luck.

Has a solution been identified for this issue? What do I need to do?

Just got finished answering another thread bout the same thing. You might want to see THIS thread. Click on the "enable email subscription" to be notified when an answer comes through.

PM me your Studio 9 serial number, passport number and the email address you used to register Studio. I'll try to get this straightened out for you.

The new key worked. I haven't burned a DVD yet, but I was able to go in and adjust the settings without getting prompted. I'm sure everthing is OK now. Thanks a million. I know we all appreciate your support with these older products.

Since my old email is no longer valid, I imagine I should update my profile. If I do not, will I have problems if I want to activate another feature at some point? I tried to do the update following the instructions I found in the Pinnacle FAQ area at this URL. http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=225859&NewLang=en. I tried using my password I was given when I originally registered but I was unable to log in. If I should update my profile, can you suggest how to get logged in?

Hi Marc, 

I'm having the same problems as Mike and Pony66.   We had to do a re-install our hard drive and now Studio 9 won't let us view our videos.  Same error message as above...MPEG 2 encoding/decoding activation keys not working.  I've tried recreating the activation keys and everything else mentioned in this thread...nothing works.  The product is was registered when we originally bought it.  

Is there anything you could do to help get it working again?
