Capturing from data/video clips/stills already on computer

I downloaded all my video clips and stills (from one camera, Canon SX10IS) onto my computer (HP Pavilion m7750n).  How do I move/capture those into Pinnacle Studio 11.1 to start a project?

There is no need to "capture" them if they are already on your hard drive. Just use the Album navigation tools to open them in the album.

Album does not list the external hard drive where the stills and video reside.  How do I get to those on that external drive?

Try using the second folder Icon to the right of the drop down box at the top of the album - you should be able to use a Windows Open file dialogue to browse to any location on your computer..

Your suggestion is to use "the 2d folder to the right of the drop down box at the top of album"..when I drop down "album" I get a single file (down) of items, so I am not following what you're telling me as "to the right of the drop down box at the top of album".  Sorry for being dense about this...can you explain.  Thanks

ooops...I found what you said...now I get an error message that I can't open a particular file because I don't have permission (my OS is Vista...ugh!!) from "my administrator".  I am the only one who uses my computer and don't know how to get around this error message.  Would appreciate  some help.  Thanks

Make sure you are on the correct album when importing Videos/Images (i find myself to be neglectful of this once in a while).

What kind of video does your camera produce?

Am I seeing it correctly that this camera records in MOV?

Can you try converting it first?
