Transfering Transitions from Studio 10 to Studio 12

I am what can be described as a Silver Surfer so please be patient. I have studio 10 loaded onto my laptop which runs on XP. I have purchased many extra transitions for this system. I have now bought a new computer which runs on Vista. I also purchased Studio 12 Ultimate which I have loaded. I am having problems downloading the extra transitions form my old system onto Studio 12. I have spent many hours following advice on the Pinnacle chatline but to no avail. Can anyone out there please help?

Re: Transfering Transitions from Studio 10 to Studio 12

I have studio 10 installed on a laptop run on XP. On this system I purchased several additional Holywood FX transitions.  I have now purchased a desk top computer which runs on Vista. I also purchased Studio 12 which is loaded onto this computer. However I cannot load studio 10 onto my Vista system and I cannot transfer the transitions from my studio 10 system into Studio 12. I have been on the chat line several times and was given advice which I have followed but I am still unable to unlock the transitions into Studio 12.

Did you try to install your HFX transition, and then requesting new keys --> http://unlock.pinnaclesys.com  ??

OK, Here's another. I re-loaded my 10.6 onto my new machine...HP Vista 64, using the Vista set-up. Downloaded the patch to 10.8. Prior to installing 10.6 on my new PC, I generated my activation keys so I could unlock the premium content I had already paid for and had been using for quite some time. I also have the CD's for HFX transition 1, 2 and 3, which I loaded. Transitions pack one and three work, but two does not..shows that it is locked. My key to unlock HFX Pro did work, so I am at a loss to understand that. My Adorage and Heroglyph keys also did not work, nor did my Bravo studio collection key (and I love the snow effect) Is there any thing that you geniuses (and I mean that sincerely !) at DeClic or anyone else could do to help me?

No single Fix I'm afraid John. Different workarounds for different Setups. Been going-on since S12 was 1st released.Super Angry

    Here's my scenario:

I had HFX 4.6 PRO (MEGA), with S8. HFX 4.6 is the same as HFX Vol 1, bar 4 Transitions (I think). Entering your Plus/PRO SerialNumber only Unlocks HFX Vol 1 & not 2.

I already had S10.7 Installed with HFX Vols 1 & 2 Unlocked, together with Purchased Premium Content, including Hero & Adorage.

All S10.7 Content transferred successfully to S12, via the Transfer Wizard 1st time. Like very many others, Installing S12.1 Patch Deleted the lot, in both S12 & S10.7Super Angry

IMO, your only chance of getting this sorted within a reasonable time-scale(& speaking from experience), is to Uninstall S12 & get all Premium Content working in S10.8, before you Reinstall S12. Even of it means Reinstalling S10.8 Premium Content.. Don't Update to S12.1, unless you have a compelling reason to do-so. Even then, you'll  lose the lot in both S12 & S10.7

    Good luckSmile

oldman1, if you call me genius, I will try to answer as a genius... If I fail, I will just disapear !... Stick out tongue

Did you try "FixHFXVolumes1-2.exe tool" (and then re-install Volume 2), available in our Download page, section HFX ? For Bravo, Adorage and Heroglyph, did you try the "FixMissingPixie.pxm tool" also available at the same place ?

Re: Transfering Transitions from Studio 10 to Studio 12

Thanks partner...but here is the rub. The only thing I did was get a new computer. Didn't get S12...reloaded 10.6 on the new PC (which is Vista, 64 bit, ) Then I updated to 10.8 . Prior to doing all this I had also gotten a list of activation keys from my 10.7 that was on my old PC. Studio loaded OK (not sure how it works yet) but when I punched in the activation keys, only half of them worked. Should I have first done 10.7 and then gone to 10.8 ?Confused

Sorry guys, didn't work....but don't disappear. Does your patch work with Vista 64 bit?

No. S10.7 Patch won't Install on Vista.

BTW - Did you Reinstall S10.6 "Bonus" Content DVD?

Maybe Regenerating Activation Keys might fix it?

Re: Transfering Transitions from Studio 10 to Studio 12

Tried the regeration bit...only part of my plug in purchases come up. None of the Adorage or Heroglyph . None of the Bravo studio pack...ya know, the ones I like and use the most !

Re: Transfering Transitions from Studio 10 to Studio 12

None of the Adorage or Heroglyph
Same here, but that was after S12.1 Patch Deleted all of my Premium Content From S10.7 Transferred to S12.(See my Post above).

The only way I could get them back-again, was to Reinstall to just S12 (Without S12.1 Patch) & Reinstall Adorage & Hero into S10.7 & then Transfer them to S12, via S12's Transfer Wizard. Even then, Adorage support library is missing in S12.

Quite a few of us in the same boat re; Adorage & Hero, since  S12 was 1st Launched.

If I'm using Adorage & Hero (Which I use a lot), I just use S10.7 on XP, from now on..

IMO, John - Your only hope of getting your particulat prob fixed, is to trawl your way through the many Posts in the HFX Threads, to see what others have done or attempred to do. Different solutions for different setups.

Good luckSmile (You're going to need a lot of it I'm afraidIndifferent)

Re: Transfering Transitions from Studio 10 to Studio 12

Oldman1, That's normal, for Adorage and Heroglyph, you need to install the latest "service pack" (available in my website download page just here). Does it solve the problem ???
