I purchased Pinnacle's Premium DVD for Studio 9; Studio + v 9 upgrade; and Hollywood FX Mega version 5 for Studio when I got Studio 9. Are these even usable with Studio 12 or necessary, ie redundant or outdated? I've read that some platforms require a patch download BEFORE you install them.

Regarding use of components oif Studio 9 with Studio 12

(a) Your original Studio 9 disc + serial number (assuming that it's a "full version" and not an upgrade from an even older version) will work as a proof of owning a qualifying older version if you were to purchase an Upgrade version of S12. There is nothing on the S9 Plus Upgrade disc you can transfer into S12 - you will have to purchase S12 Plus or Ultimate according to the features you want.

(b) The serial number of your Hollywood FX 5.5 Mega can be used as an "activation key" to unlock the equyivalent features in S12; there is an "enter your hollywood fx serial number" program provided with S12. You don't need to install the HFX Mega disc (and it probably wouldn't install anyway unless you still had S9 on the system).

(c) At present the contents of the Premium Pack DVD for S9 cannot be "migrated" into S12. However if enough people raise this as an issue Pinnacle are likely to update the "content transfer wizard" so it handles S9 too, or come up with some oher way of transferring the content and activating it in S12.

I keep getting this and it will not go away with just one click it takes several:

 what does this mean?

I have the same issue, being unable to use the menus and other add-ons that I had previously purchased with S9. Tech supports response was basically "No."

 I paid for the extras and apparently will need to pay again if I want my previous content. It is not like it is archaic content, it is sitting there in S12 mocking me.

I also have my addins for studio 9 that I can no longer use, is there no way we can use this in S12? It is a great shame for all this software sat on a shelf and not being able to use it. Can someone please help with a way to import Premium content discs from S9 into S12?

Unfortunately this can't be done through content transfer wizard.

Is there any way I can get this valuable software into S12? I really would like to use it and as I am not sure if S9 will work with Windows 7 it looks like it will be redundant software.

By the way I have been testing S12 with W7 and all appears to be well.

I'm afraid Studio 9 ceased to work since Vista. I've attempted to run Studio 9 on Windows 7 but I could not make it to run. Though I have not put much effort to make it work, though. Just the typical compatibility tweaks and good ol run as administrator. But never got a step further. Have you tried contacting support for any options about making your add on to work with Studio 12?

Yes I did but they said no to S9. I thought you migh have had an answer with the comment you made to bioslug so i was crossing my fingers that you might have a soloution.
