Can someone please tell me how to rectify this?

It would be a lot easier if you could provide us a screenshot of the error message. And brief description how you stumble/d upon it. This should make things clearer and hopefuly help us derive to a faster solution.

It failed to fetch this string: /Manual+S12.htm?mode=documents

First thing I will check is the version via Help > About Pinnacle Studio.  If that says 12.0, close Studio completely.

Click on this link and then choose Save. Then run the update afterwards.
