At the small shop where I work, we are starting to dabble in shooting and editing hd. We use the Panasonic P2 format.

The frame size is 1280x1080. I do not see this framesize in any of the timeline presets.

When I use one of the available presets, the video does not look as sharp as one would expect.

Any suggestions as to how I should proceed would be appreciated.

 

AFAIK, there is no such HD size as 1280x1080. The standard is 1080x1920 (a 16:9 aspect ratio) for which there is a preset in Liquid.

Thanks for the quick reply. When I look at the DVCPRO HD clip properties, the size is 1280x1080.

Am I missing something?

This link should help. Put the video on a standard 1920x1080 timeline and scale it to fit and that should work OK, AFAIK.
