Is this 18.1 or 18.5? Is it at least working now?

If you need dolby 5.1, sounds like you're going to have to learn to live with it. 6 minutes to render a 60 minute clip isn't bad for a program that is six years old.

It's 18.0, I can't get 18.5 or 18.6 to work with hardware acceleration. It is a 60 second clip!

The problem is that my last very modest HP i3 laptop 4 gig of ram was very fast at rendering, and would do the same test in a fraction of the time, why is that? 

In my Opinion, either windows or your bios is not letting PS18 use the Intel integrated graphics GPU, only the NVidia GPU.  You would be better using Intel GPU for PS18, it was much faster.

See if you can follow the link below and set PS18 to use the Intel GPU rather than the NVidia GPU.  If Intel GPU doesn't show up in the list, then your bios is disabling the Intel GPU because the monitor is connected to the NVidia GPU or you don't have the Intel GPU drivers installed in Windows.

I have put NG Studio and Pinnacle Studio on the graphics performance list in Windows 10 and set them to Intel GPU.

I started PS18 and set hardware acceleration to Intel.

I set my project to render to bluray image h264 best quality 1920x1080 / 50i dd 5.1, I pressed create and the first frame loaded and just stopped, no hang just stationary, so I think that my onboard Intel GPU is not working as you said.

The Intel GPU is showing in the device manager with no problems, it is showing as enabled I believe, as there is a button saying disable.

Then I saw this in  Device Manager, events further information Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9BC4&SUBSYS_12AA1462&REV_05\3&11583659&2&10 had a problem starting.

Driver Name: oem12.inf

Class Guid: {4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

Service: igfx

Lower Filters: 

Upper Filters: 

Problem: 0x15

Problem Status: 0x0

The motherboard is MSI, model MS-16W1  rev 1.0, the bios is E16W1IMS.50B

Did you check the mb manufactures Web page for a bios update?

Did you try setting the ngstudio and be renderer graphics to Nvidia and see if it exports?

Hello, the bios is up to date according to the msi website.

Yes it exports when changed to NVidia but still really slow.

Hello everyone,

It has been some time but I thought that I would let you know that my issue is fixed.

I think it was a driver issue. 

After uninstalling and installing Pinnacle studio 18 Ultimate a few times and deleting the scratch folder I got a good version of 18.1 that worked with the test footage.

I then patched to 18.5, no problems and then 18.6, all working with test footage .

On 30th March a new Intel graphics driver came out:

Driver version 27.20.100.9466

I installed the driver and set the laptop to use internal graphics for PS 18, still very slow rendering with Intel hardware acceleration.

Then:

Device manager, right click disable NVidia dedicated graphics.

All working

Super fast render time

I'm able to render and compile a 70 minute bluray image AVCHD 1920 x 1080/50i with video menus and corrections to clips in about 50 minutes.

Much quicker than my old HP laptop.

I thought I would post incase this can help anyone with a similar problem.

I would love to buy a newer version of PS, but also love having Dolby Digital 5.1 when I play PS blurays.

Please could DD 5.1 audio import and export be supported in new releases of PS?
