I have upgraded to 12 Ultimate... and I would like to use one particular transition... Volumn 1... real world basics... cloudy day and it is locked as is the bottom 4 transitions on that page.  What do I upgrade to to get this unlocked.  I was going to purchase the HFX combination package  for $99.00 but I am not sure if this would be compatable with 12 Ultimate.  There is another package I see where Volume 1 and Volume 2 etc...each are sold separatly for $99.00.  Which one do I want for 12 Ultimate.  I purchased the upgrades for 8... already but even they are not unlocked at the bottom 4.  Puzzled.

When you originally purchased HFX 4.6 in S8, those 4 Transitions were only available in the HFX PRO/MEGA Versions. HFX 4.6 is the same as Vol 1 (Except for a couple of sets of Transitions at the bottom of the list if you had PRO/MEGA. 4 if you didn't).

It may be that you can Unlock just Real World Basics, for a few dollars. Ok - just tested. Click on the Treasure chest in right-hand page in Album, whilst connected to the Internet. You'll get a page with eg: You Have Selected:

Hi,,, I went into both 12 and 8 and I do not have a treasure chest in the right-hand page on either.  In 12 there is a small treasure chest on the transition itself but when clicked on,   it takes you nowhere. Yes I am  connected to the internet.  In 8 there is the theme picture of the girl and when clicked on it takes you to a transition... (audio) tutorial... again with no mention of what i am looking for.   If I again go to 12 and scan down to the bottom of the list of all transitions I get a option for additional transitions which I clicked on and it took me to the transitions page where you can purchase the Transitions Pack for $99.00 usf which includes HFX Volume 1 & 2 + Pro Volume 1 & 2.  That is the one I was considering buying but I want to be sure it will open in 12 Ultimate.  What I don't understand and makes me question that it will is why when you go to another page are they listing each of these volumes as sold separately for $99.00 each.  That makes me think that maybe they are from the older versions of Studio.  Do you know anything about this/  Thanks for responding.  janine

Really frustrated now... I have been back and forth in these pages all day getting no-where so I finally just went ahead and purchased the RTFX Mega.  It was $99.99 but I thought that it would open all the remainder of the transitions there that were unusuable before.  Well,  so much for that idea.  They don't open anyway.  As a matter of fact... I don't really see anything different at all.  Well I now have 8 activation keys for Stu.12... RTFX Mega Effects, HFX Creator (Pro-Mega), Dolby 2Ch Encoding/Decoding, Dolby 5.1, MPEG-4 Encoding/Decoding, Dream Glow RTFx, H264Encoding/Decoding and DivX Encoding/Decoding... and none of them give me what I am looking for.  It is so difficult to find and buy what you want on that site.  My life is so complicated  All I want is Real World... Cloudy Day. 

OK - I think I know what's going-on.

If you purchased HFX 4.5 with S8, as I did, you probably can't enter HFX 4.5  Serial No into Start / All Programmes /  Pinnacle Studio for Hollywwod Fx for Studio 6 /  Enter your plus or PRO Serial No, which you could for S10 & S11 (I think), to Unlock HFX Vol 1, in those Versions, but possibly not, in S12 .

Since I have S10.7 Installed with HFX Vol 1 Installed, as well as S12 Installed, I could Transfer the Unlock info, via S12's Transfer Wizard.

Try the 1st paragraph & see what happens in S12, anyway..

That makes me think that maybe they are from the older versions of Studio.

HFX Vols 1 & 2 are older Versions, originally Installed with S10/11 (But you had to Unlock them, by purchasing an Activation Key, unless you had the Sreial No for Vol 1) & Vol 3 which wasn't Installed ( you had to Download from Pinnacle Website).

So - If Paragrarh 1 works, all you need to do is purchase an Activation Key for Vol 2 or just purchase an Activation Key for the Transitions you want?

I'm sorry I can't be more precise, however the whole process re; HFX Purchase & Activation is a nigjhtnare, as very many Poster in many Threads have discovered. 

BTW - If you do manage to Unlock Vols 1 & 2, Don't Install S12.1 Patch Update afterwards. S12.1 has Deleted Vols 1 & 2, (Again, for many Posters in many Threads) & you''ll have to jump through hoops, to get them back again.

I'll repeat yet again: Pinnacle's method of delivering it's products is a nightmare

Oh geez... how stupid.  RTFx is a plug in for effects... not a transition package.  $99.00 down the drain!   Well,  I hope when I play with it I find something useful and interesting that I can use/understand how to use.   So,,, what I want then is to upgrade my standard hfx to hfx pro then? Is that it?  Should I purchase the Volume 1 HFX Pro to activate my unavailable transitions that are marked with the treasure chest?

IMO, you only need to purchase the ones that are locked in Vol 1, which are PRO. See my Post in this Thread re: that.    

Hi... I read your post when you entered it and I tried to do that but it didn't give me that  option... following your instruction.  So... finally I just purchased FX Volume 1 (after purchasing the above RTFx which was a complete mistake) and since it is Sunday I can't download it but I will tomorrow.  I don't undersand why that option was not available to me.  I 'm wondering if it is because of the our location differences as my Studio 12 Ultimate is not set up as you stated yours to be. This should I think eliminate the problem... rather expensive way to go but....  Oh well...  Thank you so much for responding as you did.  If it doesn't work... I'll be back.
