    Is my computer too slow?

I recently installed Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 on a Dell 700m laptop w/ 2 gigs of memory. I went to play the "OurFunVacation" project that comes preloaded and the playback is jerky, audio drops out, and can't get through one or two seconds before it hangs up. Is my computer too slow. Is the intergratef video card the problem? What gives?

    Welcome to the forum.

Integrated video cards usually aren't satisfactory.

Please post your computer specs in your profile and I'm sure the experts here will be able to advise you.

Looking at the specs, I would say it is underpowered. As cuartetto mentioned, integrated video usually does not work well at all for previewing. Have your tried rendering anything out to .avi yet? If you do and it plays back well, then you can edit, but a lot slower than using a faster laptop or desktop.

I too agree, Integrated Video cards usually have shared Video memory which further cripples your system as it eats away a chunk of your RAM. You may be able to edit, but it may not give you a reliable preview.
