Hi !

I checked with Pinacle support before bying a new digital camera with HD.
According to them was it possible to use that in studio 12 (I had recenty bought 11), but I needed the latest patch.

I checked the patch on the WEB and YES, it should support MPEG4 and H.264 !!

SO...I bought the camera (Casio ZX300), and Studio 12 just to be able to work with HD files.

But it was working bad....in Vista it hangs already when trying to access a .MOV file !!!!...according to support do I have to less memory on my graphic card....
wich I still dont believe....anyway...I tried to install Studio 12 on my second PC (a 4 year old PC with a lousier graphic card)
...and volia ! It works !!!!

......Except for one thing...the sound track from the movie cant be imported !!!
When checking with support...the sound codec supported is only one...and thats the uncommon Aiptec !!!!

Soo...backgrund was a bit technical...but here comes my suggestion

I therefore strongly SUGGEST Pinnacle to:

1. INFORM about this in the patch Upgrade.....
...it is VERY misleading...se below in italic what  stated...who will ever understand that their Digital Still Cameras will be useless since the codec for sound is NOT supported !!!
"Support for movies recorded on Digital Still Cameras or Digital Camcorders in QuickTime .mov formats.
Formats include AVC1, MPEG4, H.264 and MJPEG codecs.
The files can be accessed, like with other files"

I dont think you be serious and can say that you can handle H.264 when only ONE sound codec is supported !! There are a bunch of them out there...and how nice is it with a movie without sound !??!

2. PLEASE make a set of sound codecs as fast as possible....take a set of big cameras sound codecs  like Casios, pentax, panasonics, cann, Sony  an so on...
They are common, and IS supported already in Quicktime

3. And a last question for the dev team.........
Im also curios if My investment Casio (That has  sound codec: DVI IMA, and H.264 as video) ever vill be supported !?
Will I be forced to switch to MAc with Ilife to handle this !?
The movies can be seen with no problem WITH sound in Quicktime !!!

Anyone out there facing the same problem as med !?
