I've come to the conclusion that I might just need to downgrade to a previous version.  !2 still has a bunch of bugs.  Like, tonight I was adding some transitions.  When I went to 2D transitions, no matter which one a click on, the "example" in the preview window stays the same.  So, I save|exit.  Restart the program, all fixed!  There are many little glitches like this too.  Once, when rendering, only 2 codecs show up.  Save|Exit, start back up, you guessed it - all fixed!
