    Lost Connections

I have PCTVTGO HD Wireless.  For the first 9 months or a year, it worked with very few problems.  All of a sudden, though, I am constantly encountering lost connections.  I can't watch TV over it at all without running the setup wizard first, to reconfigure it, and even then it doesn't always work.  I just went through the entire setup wizard and then when I started the player it immediately said "Connection Lost."

Part of what I'm puzzled about are the lights on the front of the unit.  I can't find the manual, so I am not sure how to interpret them.  But I see them in three states at different times:

    1.  Two LEDS on the left flashing, two on the right on steady.

    2.  First LED on the left off, three on the right on steady.

    3.  Two LEDS on the left off, two on the right on steady.

Can someone translate these for me?

    Re: Lost Connections

    1) MP4 connection (wireless direct "line of sight" for me).

    2) MP2 connection (wireless via internet)

    3) no connection, but ready in "standby mode."

     AFAIK

Lost connections happen all too often for me...

Thanks, this is helpful.  I'm concerned that all of the sudden problems mean that my unit is going out, although at least the LED combos that I thought might be telling me about some problem don't seem to be worrisome.  My unit is only about 20-25' feet from my router, and there is a more or less clear LOS between them... different rooms, but the doorways are in line with the unit and router.  Frustrating.

    Re: Lost Connections

When you suffer the lost conecctions, how does your signal strength look on the router?  Mine just isn't that bad, maybe 49%.  The tech I talked to on the phone said something about it losing synch, and I don't know if signal strength is a factor with that or not.  I'm wondering if high gain antennas on the router would help, though.

I have a pair of Linksys hi-gain antennas on mine, and it dosn't help re: connection drops.

    Re: Lost Connections

Thanks. I won't bother with that, then.  Mine has been much better in the last few days, although it is freezing some tonight.  I reinstalled the PCTVTOGO player and my wifi card driver.
