CPU Usage Problems

    CPU Usage Problems

    Problem:

    When I load Pinnacle TVCEnter Pro CPU utilitization jumps to 97% and sometimes pins to 100%.  When I shutdown Pinnacle TVCenter Pro CPU drops to 7% 

    Questions:

    1. Am I using the latest version software?

    2. Are there patches for this issue? 

    3. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

    4. Are there any Windows XP tweaks needed?

     

    Environment

    Computer and OS:

    Windows XP Professional

    Version 2002

    Service Pack 3

    Dell OPTIPLEX GX270

    Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80 GHZ

    2.79 Ghz, 3.50 GB of RAM

    Software:

     Pinnacle TVCenter Pro

    Build 1903

    Version: 4.98.1903

    Hardware:

    PCTV HD Pro Stick

    Video Hardware:

    Radeon 9600 Series

    Driver ATI Technologies Inc

    Driver Date: 9/28/2007

    Driver Version: 8.421.0.0

    TVCenter Pro 4.98 is the latest version for your hardware.

    You can lookup Dell Supportpages more more recent drivers for your chipset and grafics card. If that won't help, try directly from the supportpages from the manufacturer (i.e. Intel, if you use an Intel chipset and ATI for your graficscard).

    Maybe you use some energy saving setting which might reduce CPU speed?
