Hi,

I'm considering getting the PCTV to go, but am wondering if what i watch on the pc and on TV would have to be the same or if i could watch a different station on the pc while someone else is watching a different station on the tv?

Can this be done through a traditional setup, or possibly by hooking directly up to the coax line from the wall? And if I do go directliy from the coax/wall, would I still get all of the same premium station (Cable, HBO, Showtime, etc.) as i would hooking up through my STB?

You can watch a different station only if you have a tuner that will tune to that different station.  If you have (for example) a cable box that will tune to a different station than the TV is watching, then yes.  If you don't, then no.

There is one exception:  Very old versions of the PCTV To Go HD Wireless included an analog tuner (I have one of those).  But the newer versions don't include analog tuners, so that's probably out.

Yes, that's it.  My old unit has 2 F connectors (the threaded coaxial "TV Cable" connectors) on the back, and I can tune analog video.  Newer versions don't have that capability.

Well Heck! I have the older one then too. I have 2 F connectors also. I tried them when I first got the PCTV To Go but I was getting allot of bad signals due to the extra splitter. So I stopped using it.

Sounds like you'll be good-to-go, then, if you can get the "splitter situation" resolved.  Cool.
