How do i use my pinnacle transfer device to play my game systems (ps2 for example) on my laptop?

Ok so went to best buy for that specific reason, after going through hell to get to best buy, and ill be honest with oyu, i barely know anything abut computers, just enough not to kill it (barely) and i got thid really nice girl who games too (thank god) and she told me to get the Pinnacle Video Transfer, also the USB 2.0 Device Cable. Done. so i hook it all up and it comes up as unknown device. this was over a month ago, and im too busy. all i wanna do is use my laptop screen as the tv to play my game systems (when i finally have time to play my game systems) and i cant find the girl at best buy again, so can anyone help me? has anyone done this before, because i honestly dont know what im doing.

That very nice girl must have been fired. The PVT is for recording video signals without using a computer. You plug a video signal into the input and attach a hard disc, memory stick, ipod or PSP to the USB port, then record. You can then transfer the recording to your computer and play it back. There is no way to use it the way you describe.  Even if you had been sold a Dazzle or Moviebox, you can only preview the video in a small screen.

I'd take it back and say you were missold it.

yeah, definetly mis-sold, unless the girl thought you wanted to record yourself playing on the PS2 of course...
