AL 7 has the ability to import .vob files directly.

I don't remember anymore what 5 was capable of...

Maybe someone else.

LE Pro v. 5 does NOT support VOB or MPEG files.

It's something like MC then.

I don't remember details from version 5, but can you not save the timeline of your project as an AVI and work from that, without having to do an external conversion to AVI?

Yes, Edd, there are lots of converters available online.  Do you have a recommendation?

I use Cinematize to convert DVD's to AVI files.

 Small money and it does a great job.
