Running S11 Ultimate (11.1.2.5231); when using HFX transitions I find that most seem OK with hardware acceleration enabled in Studio and in the HFX editor, However I have found two that don't work properly (one causes a crash)
(a) In HFX Volume 1 - transition group "9 - Doors & Borders" the "PRO - Draw bridge" transition previews fine in the album with the "A" & "B" proxies, but when added to the movie (std. def PAL DV AVI) upon background-rendering or "make movie" Studio crashes immediately (just diappears)
(b) Also in HFX Volume 1 - transition group "17 - Sports" the transition "PLS - Sportsblock-Spin" does not work properly
i. It previews OK in the album provided that "full resolution preview" is not enabled (video & audio preferences). If "full resolution preview" is enabled the transition preview is distorted and stretched vertically to approximately double-height so the front of the block is drawn right at the top of the screen as it starts its spin. When added to PAL DV AVI video and rendered (background render or "make movie") the transition is also stretched to double-height.
I can get stability and correct rendering of HFX transitions at the expense of speed by disabling hardware acceleration in just the HFX Editor. I have tried several different Nvidia drivers; for this particular card 93.71 seemed the best. The "Check 3D server" program reports a pass (and only 3 warnings are recorded in the log file).
Brief system details:
Home-built: Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA mainboard (BIOS 2.30), Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 2.13GHz, 2GB RAM (DDR2/533), Point of View PCIe graphics (Nvidia GF7600GT), 256MB, driver 93.71, WinXP Home SP2B, DirectX 9.0c.
Anyone else noticed any trouble with these two particular HFX transitions (or any others) - or have I just got a nasty graphics card that doesn't play nicely with Studio...
Regards,
Richard
