I recently bought a showcenter 200 and when playing ac3 codec video files I get no sound, I found that I have to purchase some unlock code and some dolby digital decoder from pinnacle that I have to buy but I dont know where to find it, anyone help!

Just to clarify - are you trying to get the audio from digital out or analog?

 If digital you do not need to purchase anything - just hook up to a DD decoder (which will have better DAC's as well!)

 If you want the 200 box to decode AC3 then you will need to activate a license key - the FAQ on the help site has this info I'm sure.

yes i am trying to decode the ac3 and i need the license key - but I am having trouble finding it. - I cant find the link in the FAQ - I would be happy if you could give me a link?

I'm pretty sure you do this from within the ShowCenter software (I don't have it loaded anymore so I can't be exact).  I think it is under options then you select "activate dolby" or something like that.

I tried this but it takes me to the activation where I put in my serial Keys - I press continue but the screen just reloads and doesn't take me to another screen where I have to purchase the Code - Please someone help me!

I have not tried this as I use the digital outs only.

 Another easy option would be for you to rip the DVD Vob files and keep the 2 channel PCM content in the rip along with the AC3 5.1 ( I have used DVD decryptor for this  - its free). you can then select this soundrack with the remote and listen in stereo at least.

(I would recomend in getting a decent AV reciever for home movies and take the free digi out the SC200 - it sounds fabulous!)
