Hi, I've blown my portable and are reinstalling my softwares, among them Studio 11.

OS: XP Home Edition

The OS is updated with Service Pack 3 (not Service Pack 2). Studio urges me to install SP2 and ends the installation. SP3 wont let me install SP2.

 

Moment 22!!!!  Anyone got any tips, how to solve this in an easier way than uninstall SP3 - install SP2 - install SP3 again.

Yes.  Please share what you found.  I've followed all the Pinnacle advice I've found including WelcomeSP3.exe with no luck yet.

I am having the same problem with my system. I am trying to install Studio 11 on an Win XP SP3 system and it says SP 2 is not installed.

What is the fix for this?

I overcame the issue with brute force.  First, I reformatted the drive and reinstalled XP.  Downloaded SP2 only.  Installed Studio 11.  Checked it for functionality and then downloaded SP3.  I'm happy with Studio for the moment.

 This is umteenth time I've had to reformat the drive and reinstall XP to get a clean install of a Studio product in the past 5 years.  But when I ordered a competitor's product, it came with faulty CDs. I'm resigned to consider Studio the lesser of >two evils.

Might I suggest that you get a program such as Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image. With these programs, you can make an image of your drive when everything is fine, and then when something messes up, you just restore your image. Takes about an hour to restore. I wouldn't be with out it. I have Norton Ghost.
