Hi everyone just a quick question for a friend would the following processor AMD DUO 4200 be Ok for S9 , S11 and S12 with 1GB ram maybe upgrade to 2GB no HD being used only SD .  Thanks for any help

The reason hes asking is  he has a computer with 1.8ghz  and it runs S8 but its at its peak and this new computer processor is a double 1.8ghz and Im lead to believe that the duo does not kick in unless your multi-tasking?

Never heard of "duo 4200". If you mean X2 4200, you should be fine. The X2 4200 has a clock speed of 2.2ghz. But with AMD, the "4200" equates to what an Intel chip speed would have to be to be "equal". It's not so much the ghz speed, but how the chip processes information that determines it's real worth in performance.

Thanks Tony I think your right it is 2.2 he told me it was 1.8 I'm just the messenger I had a 2.1 and was well pleased with it have up graded since Cheers

Adding up, some "new" systems are shipped with outdated drivers. You might want to update the drivers for better performance.
