    We Make Memories

So I’ve been working on a little still project these past couple of days. I got to thinking about the topic of this forum and for whatever reason came up with a few thoughts. I’m thinking that to most of us that use Pinnacle, spend a lot of time working on these “masterpieces”. We show them off to family members or friends less talented than us. These little projects that we come up with would most likely be put together by the pros at the local TV stations in minutes or a couple of hours at the most. It’s what these people do. Most of us have the 8 to 5 gig we go to every day and these are just little projects we work on as time allows. We work on them with love and passion as a means of preserving that special moment in time you can never get back !!

These pros would most likely look at our projects and say “they suck”. We’d get pissed off and never bother with them again. We put together the family stuff. We put together our niece’s graduation. We capture the grandson's first appearance at the plate in his most importatnt moment in life to date ... the first baseball game ever !! We put together the small homage to a friend or relative that just passed away or recently got married and couldn’t afford the expensive wedding videographer. We help make that great band video that’s going to propel us to newer and greater heights!! Rest assured that to those people these videos are a “Masterpiece”. These “Masterpieces” make us all relive memories. We freeze time for one and other with each of these little pearls we create. So you look around here and you immediately recognize not the greatness of the video but rather the love and efforts that went into producing the project. That’s what makes our projects a “Masterpiece to us!!

The forums are a great place to show off to others ( not family or friends ) what we’ve been able to put together with a relatively inexpensive piece of software and our dandy little home computers. The users of Pinnacle will as well think “sheesh .. that really sucked but those were really nice titles or the transitions came at the right place”. Others might want to know how a particular effect was rendered. We can’t wait to explain how we came up with the idea and share amongst ourselves here cause we want to try that in our next epic.

I’m finishing up a long winded labor of love myself today and will get it uploaded some time today. Just thought I’d share a few random thoughts on a rainy morning here as I put the finishing touches on a video I’ll share with family and friends this weekend at the little Academy Awards ceremony we will have here at our home. At any rate I hope no offense is taken at this old fart and his wife for rambling on and on .. on a rainy morning in Denver ........ gotta finish up my Masterpiece for the weekend.

    Continued Happy Editing With Pinnacle,

    Jul and Dena

    Thanks for the comments,

I live in littleton and its now the afternoon, but what your saying is a fact. We all enjoy the accolades of our labor. Sometimes however the real down to the bare bones truth is that what we have created with the help of technology is a lifetime of memories created for humanity. I think of Orson Welles "The Time Machine" and see that anything we create, be it dvd or little spinning rings can possibly make a mark on future generations. Our materpieces will no doubt be viewed by others for eons. They may also be discovered by archeologist and used for decoration...their so shiny!!!! haha

That is a nice post.  Thanks.  I need to let my wife read it and maybe she'll get over the fact that I just spent $700 bucks on P12 and computer upgrades, to edit my AVCHD footage.  I bought my first video camera in December.  The twins came in January.  I've got a dozen hours of footage and I can't wait to get started on making memories for my family.
