Forget movie maker, it doesnt have capture. I dont know what people are on when they say it does. You can also forget about movie maker live as its a joke. Download movie maker 2.6, its the old version that works on Windows 7.

 Anuway dont use movie maker to capture (doesnt even have that option). But this does work with studio 11 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFQnaWYaml0 .

 Its a great screw around and I cant believe they are still selling this product with such an obvious flaw.

In Windows XP, Windows Movie Maker has an option to capture from a video camera or external source. Can't say about Win 7. The only problem is the resulting output file from WMM is AVI type one, which has to be converted to type two to work in Studio.

Does anyone know of any other programs that can detect and record PAL-60 from the dazzle? as studio is woefully inadequate.

Btw it seems the OLD platinum can with a program that actually worked http://www.xboxer360.com/videos/capture-video-from-your-uk-xbox-360/ according to there a program called "studio quick smart" would capture the PAL 60 signal. Is this still available anywhere?

 

im still having troubles with my DVC100, all i get is a black screen with a hook mine up. i have downloaded all the links that have been posted in this thread and there is still no picture.

ok i have had a little sucsess. i got the picture working by useing AMcap. but after 15mins of useing it, my laptop crashed. did a reboot and worked fine untill i tried to open AMcap. so now AMcap is crashing my computer.

 

is there another program i can download that works the same as AMcap?

There is an easy solution to all those who want to record from a dazzle in 60 Hz. An easy solution and no hassle really ( this is for ps3, xbox and can work for just tv )

 You will need (for ps3 and xbox )

The RCA cable provided with the console

A double ended RCA cable

A Scartplug as is shown Here

A dazzle

A computer

AMcap ( you can download this on the internet for free, the demo version is good enough )

 

What to do :

Plug your double ended RCA cable into your dazzle and the TV ( one end in each )

Plug your cosole cable into the scart plug and insert into the back of the TV

The brightness might go down on your TV at this point. This is normal.

Open AMcap.  Click on Devices and select the Dazzle. Go into Options / Video capture Filter and select Pal-B or the setting witch has colour for you (most people wil have Pal-B or Seacam)

 Click on Capture, and there you go. The footage may look like it lags on screen but I re assure you it doesn't on playback. Only downfall, no sound. But i'm working on that!

 

You can edit your video in movie maker afterwards.

I am using a Pinnacle Studio Movie Box HD, and Windows 7, will this still work with Windows Live Movie Maker? That's the only version of WMM for Windows 7.

My son has that version of WMM and he can't get it to see the Pinnacle Device nor the Easycap, apparently WMM in Windows Xp could see them both fine - hope this helps 

PunkSunflower, just got word that the Pinnacle 710-USB won't capture Pal60Hz.

Not saying that who-ever spoke THAT word did it with a foot in his mouth, but I have seen a report of a person using Magix 17HD to make the USB710 work properly with PAL60

So does

Dazzle Platinium DVC 100 Work with 60Hz ? . Or do i have to download the Driver thingy

I have been trying to record PAL 60 and I can tell you that my dazzle cannot do it properly.
Secam will give you colour, however, the picture is wrong. Trying to record anything particularly dark using secam will result in a pitch black screen, whereas NTSC_433 or NTSC_M_J will result in a perfect picture, only its black and white, which is not acceptable really.

I will try a firmware update or something.
